Social regression in New Eden.

Tl/dr for the whole thing before mods closes the thread as it has run its course

1. I defined 'regression' as going back to previous mode of social framework, as a technical definition, not in terms of 'worse'

2. People argues it's not a 'regression' as the game has gotten 'better', which is a value laden term, not a technical term

3. But it is a regression as one option of 'transcending' game mechanic has been removed for good, hence there is one less option than before, and CCP stamped their authority in a way that players cannot challenge or overcome. It permanently closed down one potential means of transcendence from modern frame work of the game world and mechanics

4. That's all there to it. When the definition is that "Now minus X Is regression", it does not matter what X is or how one feels about it.

5. Nevertheless, I appreciate the chance I had to learn people's feelings about X, although that was never the topic of the OP.

CCP can now rest in peace that although they committed a regression in their game design, people seem to be happy with removal of X, and hopefully this will benefit CCP in commercial ways.

Good job CCP for making a popular change.

Uhhhh, yea, no. I'm going to have to side with CCP on this one and say that people should be playing EVE to play a game, not to make real life money, and not to benefit in eve when their favourite race horse wins.
