i missed Christmas last year too - was the best Christmas so far.

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

Well, it's nice to see all those being mad because things are not done the way THEY want them. But seriously, even if CCP decided to not give those gifts, it would have been just my fault for whatever reasons and not CCP to blame for that.

I don't agree always with everything that CCP does and how they do things sometimes, but I see them trying lately to provide a much better game and service! Definetely! And I think that deserves to be said from time to time too.

How about, some people just start to adopt a little instead of being bullheaded? For half of the things people are whining, I'm gonna blame their unflexibility instead.

So, that's my last comment for some time...

Merry christmas to each and everyone of you!

PS: I'm not US time... whoever guessed that :p

They told me to mine... and I started to mine, the market ;)

Nope... I still think of it as GMT

But it could be UTC, UTZ, Zulu time...

However you say it, EVE plays by it... Not hard...

No. I refuse to call it by that other name.

It's GMT and will always be GMT regardless of what the other butt hurt countries that weren't the world power at the time it was set say.

hmmm, lets review

company sends American customer an email specifying a date of December 21st.
American customer assumes this means local date time
American can assume this because ITS THE GODDAMN LAW according the the United States federal trade commission.
(and before you say anything you might reference your own wacky local trade laws over there in the eurozone, as some of them are dumber then ours)

now quit trolling, CCP is wrong just like they are 75% of the time

oh, BTW
I got my gift in plenty of time, I just think this method of gifting is rotten

So?
1. CCP isn't an American company
2. UTC isn't hard do work out.
3. You're disreguarding everyones opionions because they are not the same as yours
4. Said American customer should have thought: "Ooh gifts from CCP, considering EVE uses UTC ill assume they mean the 21st in that timezone rather than my own." I don't rage all over the forums when CCP says a patch will be released on the 18th and its the 19th in my time, BECAUSE ITS SO EASY TO WORK OUT THEY DONT USE MY TIMEZONE

Now, more than ever, we need a dislike button.

I think it would be wise for CCP to consider that not everyone in the world runs on UTC

I'll just throw this in here for the anger.

Maybe American players should come to terms with the fact that they are not the center of the universe. CCP runs on UT. Get with the program or GTFO.

Mr Epeen Cool

The Atlanta office of CCP isn't a seperate company, and if it is just in case im wrong its still owned by CCP

According to US law, if your business does business or has Employees in the United States, your company has to either incorporate a subsidiary corporation in the state you wish to do business in, or you have to register as a Foreign corporation. Either way, your company becomes subject to US Federal and State law.

So, since CCP North America is incorporated in Georgia, it's an American company.

Now as far as I know there's no law requiring you to use local time in an e-mail giving away free stuff, so the guy you replied to is wrong as well.

American here

Really someone is raging because they couldn't be bothered to figure out the date that London is in. Since internet spaceships is serious business I have been known to get up earlier to make sure I get various things set(skill queue, gifts, updates, etc) and I get up at 6AM -8 GMT normally.

GMT isnt really that hard to figure out and you could use the time zone box to figure your offset.

-looks at clock
-clicks on clock
-switches to time zone tab

Ohh lookie US/Los Angeles -8 GMT. London is in the future atm.

I only play games from the future

Despite my posting prowess I really am terrible at this game

Man, it's hard to converse with people who live in the past. GMT -7(Arizona) here. I'd be happy to talk to you come summertime.

To all of you people claiming US law is king. Try reading the EULA.

Section 16.

The EULA, and the rights and obligations of the parties hereto, shall be governed and construed by and in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Iceland. The EULA shall not be governed by the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.

The sole and exclusive forum for resolving any controversy, dispute or claim arising out of or relating to the EULA, or otherwise relating to any rights in, access to or use of the Software, System, Game, Game Content, User Content and/or the rights and obligations of the parties hereto, shall be the District Court of Reykjavík, Iceland, (Héraðsdómur Reykjavíkur). You hereby expressly waive and agree not to raise any and all objections based on personal jurisdiction, venue and/or inconvenience of such forum and agree to the jurisdiction of the District Court of Reykjavík, Iceland.

So no, your local laws simply do not apply in this, or any other EVE related matter.
Timezone is UT, get over it.

Someone reports the happy news that they were able to get their gift thanks to CCP GM's being nice about it and you've got the usual chest thumpers on here gloating and disparaging others who don't watch the forum like a hawk.

That is why this community gets such a bad reputation. CCP does something nice for those who weren't as fortunate and you bring up BS darwin references and other crap. This makes you look even worse because if you claimed it this has NOTHING to do with your gameplay or account. Yet you forum warriors feel the need to rage about CCP being nice to the op anyway.

Unbelievable!....

Once apon a time there was a man that lived by the river. He heard a radio report that the river was going to rush up and flood the town. The report said that the whole town should evacuate immediately. But the man said, "I'm religious, I pray. God loves me. God will save me."
But the waters began to rise. A man in a rowing boat came along and he shouted. 'Hey! Hey you! You up there. The town is flooding. I can take you to safety.' But the man shouted back: "I'm religious, I pray. God loves me. God will save me."
A helicopter came hovering overhead. A guy with a megaphone shouted. 'Hey! You there! The town is fully flooded. Let me drop down a ladder and I will help you to safety.' But the men shouted back that he was religious, that he prayed, that God loved him and that God would take him to safety.
The man then drownned. When he got to the pearly gates of St Peter, he demanded an audience with God. 'Lord,' he said, 'I'm a religious man, I pray. I thought you loved me. Why did this happen?' God said, 'I sent you a radio report, a helicopter, and a guy in a rowing boat. What on earth are you doing here?'

CCP Sent you an E-Mail, a Login Page ad, a Dev Blog, and a Forum sticky. What on earth are you doing here?

Ruby, What are you doing here? What does this have ANYTHING to do with you?

If you got your gifts then you arent affected. Instead you are just venting and otherwise wasting everyone's time.

CCP overruled you. CCP seems to not think your darwin references are relevant. Umad?
