Clients freeze, exefile.exe stopped interacting with windows

Had this issue a few days ago, did a full reinstall of the game and set run as administrator on the eve launcher. Seemed my issues were resolved but I experienced the issue again today.. clients just freeze and I must close and reopen.

The below was pulled from event viewer. Anyone experienced this or have any possible solutions to try?

The program exefile.exe version 2016.9.107.1985 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Security and Maintenance control panel.

ive had the same issue, I think it may be to do with the windows recent update as it has started since then

Just had it happen again. Froze the clients that I had up on my screen. Closed those and checked a client I had minimized, and it was still working. Very strange..

To provide other things I tried.. I checked download everything, ran the cache check. I even updated my bios checked for driver updates etc etc. Seems to either be related to the latest win update as Rampin pointed out, or possibly the new nvidia experience/driver they released nearly on the same day as the win update. Rampin, do you have nvidia? if so, did you update as well?

Another thing to note, it seems to happen when multitasking/swapping between clients or launching a new client.

yeah i have Nvidia - i have 2 laptops and problems started when i upgraded windows and the Nvidia experience and the other laptop it seems to be because of the windows update as alot of people seem to be getting the problem not just with eve... my steam freezes too

New discovery! I was able to get my clients to freeze 100% of the time when launching notepad++. Tested running normally, running as administrator, 32bit/64bit etc etc. Always crashed. This is now completely uninstalled and I'm running visual studio code, so far so good. Will update if I get any freezes now!

Haven't had any hangups since I stopped running notepad++ (used it to keep track of things to buy etc in eve). I also just received a new win update as of a few moments ago. Will definitely update if I see the issue again and any troubleshooting items.

Have you tied the freezes to clicking anything outside of eve? launching a new client, launching a separate app etc?

So I had my clients hangup earlier today when I opened the new nvidia geforce experience. Seeing that as well Stripe/Rampin?

Getting the same issue. I can replicate the crash by opening Notepad++ or Geforce Experience.
