Running Wine on El Capitan. Currently, I am completely unable to play during any sort of larger scale engagement. I've turned graphic settings all the way down and it doesn't help.

As the fight goes on, performance drops more and more until I'm running at about 1 frame per 5-10 minutes.

I've never had an issue like this before. I typically run at 20-40 FPS, dipping down to MAYBE 10 fps during large engagements. I admittedly haven't been playing as much the last few months, so am unsure of when exactly this became a problem.

Same situation here. Haven't played in fleet fights since July. Was able to play in fleet fights with 1000+ on grid all thru Spring and Summer of 2016 while having medium graphics settings. However, now when Tar-Palantir is in fleet fights, the FPS drops to 0.5-3 FPS if he is looking at the fight. If he turns his camera away from the fight, he can get up to 12-15. Graphics were set to "Optimize for Performance" which results in just about every graphic item being unchecked. Did both Windowed and Full screen modes - similar results. Resolution was 1920 x 1102 in windowed mode. Fight was in W-IX39 in Querious. At start local was in the middle 400's. If Tar-Palantir would leave the grid of the fight, the FPS would jump up to 50, but on grid it had the low FPS mentioned above.

As mentioned, this setup worked fine 2 months ago. OS Patches applied since then are:

Tar-Palantir will quickly note that he changed from using Cider to using WINE on this Mac back in the early summer before the mandatory move. Tar-Palantir can't remember exactly when that would have been and looking thru the Eve files he can't find a log file that would indicate a date. The closest he could come is a folder in: ~/Library/Application Support/EVE Online/ called wineserver-{stuff that is account related} . The folder is empty with both the creation and modification date being June 15th. When he made the switch, there were some key short cut aspects that changed and he had to deal with, but performance overall didn't seem to be majorly impacted. Being June, this would have been before the Mac OS X 10.11.6 update since they would not come out till July 11th.

Unfortunately, due to being very low activity from late July till the last 2 weeks, it isn't until this weekend that he has been in a position to notice and document the performance problems. He first noticed them on Sunday September 25th which was the first large fleet Tar-Palantir had been in since July. However, due to circumstances he didn't have any time to dig or experiment at that time. On Saturday October 8th he was in the fleet mentioned in the previous post and saw a similarly dismal performance. He has more time available to dig now. Tar-Palantir is a professional Mac sys admin work side and a fair bit of experience troubleshooting (going thru logs - /var/log/* , watching process performance, command line modification of config files, some ktrace work though that has been a number of years ago). If you need information to help narrow down problems, he should be able to provide it (real life time/schedule permitting of course).
