Most of the predictions here will be wrong.

I think the price of PLEX will continue on its current trend. If you look at the pool of skills an alpha has access to, making that sort of isk takes longer than month, bar some exploration activities that would be extremely dangerous without use of a covops cloak.

Depending on the amount of active alphas, demand for meta 4 modules will lilely go up as they will become best in slot modules for whatever total % of the player base alphas are.

I'm curious as to what will happen to the price of a Gnosis.

I think CCP has vastly overestimated the draw of free-to-play, and the expected resulting subscriptions.

New players are quickly going to get bored because of not grasping the concept of player generated content, or frustrated with the complexity, or infuriated with loss and "griefing". CCP shouldn't have made a move to free-to-play before the NPE was improved.

PLEX may be affected in the short-term, mostly by veteran speculation.

Generally to the favor of those of us who only buy PLEX when we need an infusion of cash. Since the cash price of PLEX is fixed, the increase in price in game actually improves our buying power in the short term.

I'd be willing to bet the price pf PLEX will go up...a lot.

With the rest, we'll just have to wait and see.

I think the tin-foil-royalty will dump their plex, initially causing a price drop, then as "it's not as bad as we first feared Perceval!!", they will buy back all they can afford forcing it back up again

While it is true that a lot of people in general are overwhelmed by EvE and give up, a lot of other people won't. We're not going to have 2 million people logged in at once, but I'd be surprised if by February we didn't have ~100k online at any given time.

Oh it will surely spell the end of Eve! In fact, please give me all your stuff so I can put it in my hangar and stare at it while I spin my ship with all the stuff I already have!!

Actually, I'm not sure what will happen. I agree there are going to very few belts with anything in them in the easier high sec areas. It could also create a new class of player that starts out not worried about PvP at all because they "have nothing to lose".

I can be sure of a couple of things. There will be griping here!! These will include:

1. Prices are terrible because they are too high/low/the same!!
2. These noobs are ruining mining/missions/pvp/trading/scamming/griefing/ship spinning..........
3. They just don't know the territory!! don't know the territory!
4. CCP is ruining Eve with all these alpha clone guys!
5. CCP has saved Eve with all these alpha clone guys!
6. Eve is dying!
7. And from the new alphas "Why doesn't this game let us walk in stations? Land on planets? Have space monsters? Why can't I have a pet? Why can't I see myself in a pod when I fly? Why can't I have a hat/beard/some other random character attribute like in WoW or other games. Why can't I be an alien?

Basically change. And change I believe is good!

A large change like this needs to be coupled with a vigorous marketing campaign.

If history serves, we can count on CCP dropping the ball on that aspect again.

ya know you're not wrong at all.

i've yet to see a single advert and with no market push how will anyone know about EVE ftp ?

oh yea,, word of mouth, so is it more about attracting vets back than new players, because i just can't see a huge rush to play EVE when there is so many games out there that's already ftp and market themselves pretty well.

such a short time to alpha launch and little to no marketing of the product.

or can you count reddit as marketing of some type.
