EVE can be action packed and you can get non stop actions if you have various areas of operation in null and low sec hot spots, but the biggest appeal for me and what keeps me in the game is its long term appeal as a persistent one universe with lots of player driven stories. There are times I don't log in for days or weeks, but I usually have some things going on passively like long term trade/industry projects. You can 'advance' in game (at least in terms of SP and ISK) while having limited log in times, and the game often feels fresh (at least for a while) if you come back after some break.

Because EVE is with you, always and everywhere. She is brutal but patient, she gives and she takes. And once she has you, you are hers... forever.

Time to dance.

I hear the roar of the big machine

Two worlds and in between

Hot metal and methedrine...

I hear your empire down

The reason i had left EVE was because at the time my daughter had just been born and frankly i didnt see the point of pumpingmoney into a game i would hardly have any time to play as I would be looking after my daughter. I had been playing eve on and off then. Now with the free to play model live i can get back to a game that has always had a VERY special place in my heart.

Also its gives me more on and off again oppertunity for the ga,e and community wise i have just got to say that other than warcraft this community the gsme has here is some of the closest group of people I have ever seen in an mmo and I have missed that n other games I have tried

For years I've wanted a sandbox MMO wargame, with a consistent game world where every players' actions matter somehow. EVE is the closest there is to that. Well, actually it is that.

I take a break and play single-player wargames sometimes, or multiplayer twitch combat games. But eventually you defeat single-player wargames and they end. And in multiplayer twitch games you don't really influence the game world-- it recycles, same thing, different fight. I try other MMOs, and after an evening of it I feel dumb and uninstall. So, even though I enjoy playing other games, EVE is always home base for the real challenge.

I took a hiatus from Eve but never really left, just waited for the opportune time to come back.

The problem with ED is that everything is stuck behind a massive paywall to the point that players have to find exploits to make any real money in the game, only to have those exploits plugged up by the devs because for some reason they feel it should be nauseatingly slow to make money in the game. ED has tons of potential but it's run by people who have no idea how games work in the 21st century and think people should roleplay to make up the difference.
