The difference is that for now i need to write down "A Paladin class Marauder owned by Lysus was destroyed in Amarr system at 118.09.27 20:33" and literally everyone may find dat killmail in public combat logs, instead of just provide a link to combat log directly.

Assuming there is actual need for the mails such as additional information during news or events being discussed I don't see a reason the ban couldn't be lifted.

Although I would imagine it wouldn't take long before the normal way we act comes to rise and they're used for baiting and smacking one another under the guise of polite conversation.

Capsuleers take some perverted pride in bragging and beating their chest about how many lives they ended in a day, as if it is some kind of sport. IGS is no place for that.
