LISUDEH – The Office of Press for the Emperor Family has been left speechless in the last few moments, as confirmation has just arrived that Sanmatar Maleatu Shakor has crossed the Amarr-Matari border under Republic Fleet escort, and is currently en route to the Imperial capital of Dam-Torsad.

An unprecedented and completely unexpected turn of events, the confirmation of the Sanmatar’s crossing from Heimatar into the Imperial region of Devoid via the Ammatar Mandate has left both the Amarr and Matari media in a state of utter confusion, as analysts on both sides of the border attempt to theorize on the outcome of what could become the first face to face meeting of the Amarr and Matari heads of state since the formation of the Minmatar Republic.

While the Empire traditionally offers an invitation for the Matari head of state to attend events of interstellar significance that are hosted within Imperial borders as a courtesy, this astonishing turn of events marks the first time ever that the leader of the Minmatar Republic will have accepted an invitation of this nature, and will also be the first time in the history of the Republic that the Matari head of state has set foot on Amarr Prime.

It is reported at this stage that after almost twenty minutes of confusion at the Ammatar Border, a Republic Fleet convoy of approximately thirty vessels, including a Tempest Tribal Issue carrying Sanmatar Shakor, was granted passage through three Ammatar systems in Derelik before being met in the system of Lisudeh by an Imperial Guard escort.

In what appears to be the extension of an olive branch from the Imperial Armed Forces to the Republic Military, the Republic Fleet convoy was permitted to cross the border into Amarr sovereign space, and Sanmatar Shakor is currently under joint Imperial Guard and Republic Fleet escort to the Imperial Capital.

I am shocked and delighted yet reserved--while it's difficult to interpret this as anything but peaceful, it's still entirely unprecedented.

I wasn't prepared to give Shakor this much credit. Maybe peace and reason will prevail.

Unless there's some game, which is doubtful from the small size of the Sanmatar's escort, this means the four powers of New Eden will be in the same room in person, in peace. I don't know what happens next, but that alone will be monumental.

This is in line with some noises that I've heard coming out of the Sanmatar's office through the clan grapevine. Lots of hush hush meetings between senior diplomats, the Council, and the Sanmatar. With that in mind, I was expecting some sort of diplomatic gesture, but something like this was unexpected.

I'm impressed, cautiously optimistic, and suddenly without plans for the rest of the day.

Now let's just hope Ronin doesn't decide this constitutes treason. A TTI takes a lot less than 4200 Tornados.

Ya, let's hope that. I think the situations changed drastic enough that if his plan was such a thing as attacking the festivities he would keep in mind our Sanmatar is left wide open for retaliation. Fighting the slaver religion is one thing, causing the death of our own leader is another totally different matter...

This gesture by the Sanmatar must not be taken likely. As a Brutor tribesmen and a republic citizen, and I fully support the Sanmatar.

As the CEO of Aloga industries, I can only hope that this marks the start of normalized relations, allowing for a larger focus on internal projects within the Republic to improve standard of living and general Matari welfare.

If there was ever a sign of how pointless the militia wars are, this is it. This is the second time Amarr has allowed an enemy state to freely enter our space with a fleet of warships, and the first time it is our primary opponent.

An interesting development, in any case. Likely only done because Her Ladyship is the only one of the potential heirs who is not pure Amarr. Still rather odd to see Shakor offering a show of support to a woman who's House supports some of the worst treatment of slaves in the Empire.

Offering a show of support may be overreaching, Ms Kernher. We shall have to wait and see.

I have mixed feelings about this very, very unexpected news.

We'll have to see if he uses the occassion to exchange any pleasantries, or instead uses it as a platform to complain about something in a display of terrible ill manners. I hope for the former, because he could say the hypothetical latter at home without needing to take a trip.

Maybe he is just being polite. The Sanmatar is known for being very polite and level-headed. Almost never see him throw chairs at anyone even once.

This is a momentous development. I hope it is the result of careful diplomacy and good faith.

How would you like to see this situation handled, militia attacking the escort fleet and refusing to acknowledge the official Empire invitation?

This is going to be a great day or this is going to be a massive headache. Either way, considering how our kind likes to shoot things for fun, I encourage the not indifferent parties to keep their logistics on stand by.
