Returning player enquiring about DED sites

Hi all, I went a little overboard with my first post in the general discussion forum so I'll keep this short. I'm coming back after about a year break and I'd like to get into the combat site side of exploration. I used to run data/relic sites in all areas of space but I specialized in scan and scoot, so while I have generally good fittings and excellent scanning abilities, I only have T1 level weapons and other more combat related equipment.

So the question is: is it possible to run any worth while combat DED sites with T1 equipment? I see tons of fittings offered for 4/10 that are chock full of t2 equipment... Does that mean you simply won't be able to run 4/10 unless you've skilled up that much? Or does all that just let you blitz the sites in no time? I can fly most gallente ships up to battleship (though just barely) as well as the astero and stratios.

I am not an expert but you should be about to meta down those T2 fits to T1 options, it maybe that your PG and CPU skills let you down then, but if not then yeah you may fin dyou hit less DPS but can still do the sites.

If you use a out of game fitter like PYFA or EVE HQ you will be able to see if you can for them using your skills. I am sure the lower level DED sites would be doable with drones (if you have good drone skills)

For HS sites Meta equipment should not be an issue. I used to do Sansha 4/10 in a really poorly fit Harbinger when I first started.

Its the other things that will get you:

Personal Skill - if you have poor tank you need to know how to fly to mitigate damage and apply DPS.
People stealing the site from you. if you have poor DPS and tank you are bound to have a lot of sites taken out from under you.

That being said i have Run Sansha 1-4/10 and Samshan Minor Annex with a T2 Wolf , and the Sansha 4/10 with a Ishkur . So if you know what you are doing just about anything with 100+ DPS can run them. (Angel sites are harder for small stuff due to webs and TPs)
