So I joined FW for the 1st time, I enlisted the corporation I created for myself and my alt (lol), and now I'm figuring out the best ways to Pew and, hopefully, make some ISK doing it so I can get better ships for more Pew, you understand, ofc :)

Currently the Loyalty Points I earn for doing offensive FW plexing I am earning for a corp called the Tribal Liberation Corp. My question is, can I work for a different corp within this faction? How do I switch? How did I choose to work for these guys in the first place, was it because they owned the station I initially signed up for FW in?

Thanks!

Okay... so... some explanation is needed.

The Tribal Liberation Corp is a "special corporation" for players who have joined Faction Warfare but are not a part of a player corporation (player corps and alliances can join Faction Warfare).

The TLF (as this entity is also known by) falls under the Minmatar Faction.

While in the TLF, you can still run missions for any other NPC group as long as you have the standings (see: "the NPCs like you enough").

However, the Loyalty Points you earn for PvPing and running complexes in Faction Warfare will be specific to the TLF.
The same holds true for any mission you run for any other NPC agent (example: if the NPC agent is under "Brutor Tribe" then you will earn Loyalty Points for "Brutor Tribe").

To my knowledge, Loyalty Points are not transferable.

Side note: Just remember that while in TLF, you are part of a global war declaration and anyone in the opposing militia (in your case; Caldari or Amarr) can kill you anytime, anywhere, in any ship.

Yes.
In order to be a part of Faction Warfare, you have to "sign up" for it (see: you probably clicked a button while sitting in station... it happens).

Which faction's militia you join depends on which faction's station you are in.

You can leave the Tribal Liberation Corp by docking in a Minmatar station (see: the rusty, brown ones) and finding the station button for "Militia." Play around with the settings.
Understand that if you quit the TLF, the following will happen:

- you will still be in Faction Warfare until the next "downtime" (see: the servers are shut down and booted back up every night).
- once you leave Faction Warfare, you will no longer gain Loyalty Points for killing an enemy, nor can you capture a complex (you can still cash them out if you have enough).
- you will no longer have access to the "militia" chat channel.
- the Faction Navy of your "enemies" will stop shooting you in their High-sec space (provided you have not tanked your standings with them already).

https://www.fuzzwork.co.uk/lpstore/sell/10000030/1000182 may be of interest to you.

Please bear in mind, as the prices are all from the market, they're subject to manipulation by other players.

A Zainou 'Deadeye' Rapid Launch RL-1001 isn't really worth 18 million isk, so you won't make 47,000 isk per LP you spend on them. a ratio of 800 to around 2000 is around the best you'll get. Check the market and what's actually sold.

Woo! CSM XI!

Incursion LP is transferable to other LP stores.

You can get shot at by opposing-militia players in hisec. Fly carefully in trade hubs. I notice Minmatar FW in thrashers on the Amarr undock when I look sometimes.

Each faction has a single NPC corp that is in the Militia for that faction and it is with this NPC corp that you earn LP points for. For the remainder of this post I'll limit my discussion to the Minmatar.

In the case of Minmatar it is 'Tribal Liberation Force' (TLF). Players can either join TLF directly or a player corp that has already joined the Minmatar Militia. Whole corps can join the Militia (a CEO ability) and while they are not connected to the TLF, their members still earn LP with the TLF for Faction Warfare related tasks.

Differences between TLF and player corps in Minmatar Militia.
. TLF accepts automatically. Thus it is rife with Amarr spies.
. Because of the above, players corps are wary of accepting TLF members into their fleets.
. TLF players (Amarr spies or AWOXers) killed by other Minmatar Militia players cause a TLF standing hit to those players. Thus, even known Amarr spies (especially their pods) are not generally KOS to Minmatar Militia players.

How to join:
1. When joining a player corp, more or less the same as any other player corp with one cavet, your current standing with the Minmatar Faction ought to be zero or above. Corps may accept you if it is negative, but the average rating of the corp has to be above zero or the corp is forceable ejected from the Militia.
2. To join TLF go to one of their stations, open the FW window and click join Faction. Alternatively, dig into the Neocom for the faction warfare window and click join Militia, but be aware that it may offer you the NPC corp of another faction if you are not in a TLF station, depending on your location and/or race. In particular if you are in a low sec FW system and dock up in an Amarr station it will offer the Amarr NPC corp (24th Imperial Crusade), even if the system is owned by the Minmatar.

Ways to earn LP
. Kills (of Amarr Militia players). You get a small amount of LP for this depending on the value of the enemy loss and modified by their Militia rank (effectively their standing to their NPC corp). The amount of LP is low due to the effects of certain entities (grrr goons) gaming the system when it first came out, so don't bother complaining on the forums that people should get more LP for kills. Note that if multiple players share a kill, the LP is first given to the player that got the final blow and then divided between the players in his fleet (if any).
. FW plexes. Only spawn in designated FW low sec systems. Both defensive and offense plexes, counts towards system occupancy. Basically orbit a button for the required time. Engage or run away from enemy players who come to chase you out. Offensive plexs require you to kill an NPC ship periodically during the exercise. Such kills affect your standing with the enemy (Amarr) faction. Defensive plexes (all sizes) are dead easy and can be completed in an unfit frigate, assuming no enemy player interference, but grant less LP. Your defensive plexes are your enemies offensive plexes and vice versa. The Faction currently owning the system determines who is the defender.
. TLF missions. Go to a TLF station, there are 16 in existance (same number for every FW NPC militia corp) and accept a mission from an agent. Every station has all four L1-L4 mission agents and you have to work up your standing with either Minmatar or TLF to access higher level agents. Fortunately, you get a big stepping stone while in FW as periodically, as your standing rises (with TLF), you will get promoted (FW ranks) which in turn provides a big boost to your standing towards the next level. The mission will send you 8-15 systems to kill an NPC fleet commander or structure. The best way is to do a circuit of all 16 TLF stations and accept 16 missions (this may have been nerfed to a 5 mission maximum) then do them en-mass. TLF L4 missions can be completed with a stealth bomber (ideally the Amarr one) in about 10 minutes. Lower level missions involve smaller rats which aren't suitable for an SB, so it can be difficult to reach L4 mission agents doing missions alone. Best to grind up your standing with Minmatar instead, before joining the Militia.

The CEO of any player-run corporation or alliance can join FW with it.. So yes, , a one man corp can join FW and will still be in that original corp.

The LP that you collect for FW activities will be for the faction's FW corp, ie my corporation (Justified Chaos) is in Gallente FW< so when I do missions or plexes I get Federal Defence Union LP.
