Preparations for the coronation of Empress Catiz I.

I'm happy to see a small piece of storyline evolvement: Imperial Guard Tour Dam-Torsad Ahead Of Coronation

For me I have extracted three interesting things from that news:

  • "...part of today’s objective is a basic field test of new dropsuit technology that has recently been developed."

    • Maybe this is a little hint to "Project Nova", the supposed follow-up game for Dust 514, and that the Dust based storyline will progress more or less seamlessly, but with advanced technology, into Nova. But that might be a bit far-fetched.

  • "...there are some who would like to prevent the rightful ascension of the Empress to the throne, based on ridiculous notions of inappropriate lineage and impurity."

    • For storyline newcomers: "inappropriate lineage and impurity" certainly points to the Udorian heritage of Catiz Tash-Murkon and the whole Tash-Murkon family. The Udorians were a rivaling empire on the Amarr continent on Amarr Prime ages ago. They are described as merchants much more liberal and less religious than the True Amarr. After a phase of conflicts between the two empires the Amarr finally won the upper hand and the Udorians were enslaved. While they are deeply integrated into the Amarr Empire today, there are apparently still conservative groups who consider them as impure and - as the news indicates - don't like that one of their inheritors will become empress of the empire.

    A few references about Catiz and the Udorians:

    - Udorians
    - Udorian Arrival on Amarr Island
    - Tash-Murkon / Udorian history

    It will be interesting to see how this potential Amarrian inner conflict and Catiz' character will develop!

I do not dream of internal Amarrian conflicts, however as a matter of fact the Empire had already faced a chemical attack against an Emperor Family Station in Kehour in the wake of the coronation preparations.

Hm, maybe those 246 Slaver Hounds that died weren't actually collateral damage but the primary target? Is Catiz known to love animals? Are there any parties inside the Empire who dislike Slavery? And they want to push Catiz into some political direction by launching a kind of symbolic attack, a direction that Jamyl already began to walk into? Or parties outside? Or just some random zealots? Or something else. Speculations...

This is an allusion to the fact that she was a slave.
Udorians in the past slaves. There were slaves remained slaves.
The wealth does not protect them.

But it is possible to add a second color gold.
White / Gold - Looks cool.

White - Purity
Golden - Color Throne.

Something around the event will appear with the YC118.8 Release next week:

"Purity of the Throne Exaltation Temple sites have appeared throughout New Eden. Capsuleer investigation is required."

Perhaps, that skin is the (or a) price during the Purity of the Throne event:

"The Empire is encouraging capsuleers across the cluster to strip the heretics of their colors, and wear them in support of the ascension of Catiz I to her rightful place as the leader of the Amarr Empire."

Hopefully not another endless grind, like the Serpentis event. At least it can only last two weeks, I guess, until the coronation date Sept. 27th.
