Overview/HUD Interaction?

I'm not sure if this is something with the new patch or merely something I've never noticed before, so I figure I would put it to the learned folks here:

Are the appearance/disappearance of icons on the main screen/HUD tied to the Overview display settings? I swear that I've always been able to see the icons for the various areas (planets, moons, suns, asteroid belts, etc) on the main screen regardless of whether I have them showing in whatever Overview tab I have open. I noticed today that when I clicked on my Mission overview (which excludes asteroid belts), all of the inverted triangles disappeared from my main screen. I really don't remember changing overview tabs having an effect on what I see on the main screen as far as iconography goes.

Is this new or am I just really unobservant?

Thanks and fly safe!

Nope it's always like that

Open the overview settings in the the "Tabs" tab you will see a "Bracket Profile" associated with each tab...that's what determines which icons you see in space

I usually just use the default for all of mine but you can do something like do a PVP one that shows none of them as most PVPers will tell you, in a fleet fight you'll want those turned off.
