I lost my my drones in a mission and the mission has been completed.
Some days ago,I find My API shows there are some drones in the space in my "personal assets" and I can't delete it.
How long the lost drones will be disappeared ? Or anyone knows how to remove it from my API?

Lasts a few day no way to delete them, without collecting them or destroying them.

Always willing to help all you have to do is ask, though if you're in the other fleet I may not help the way you want. Just a heads up. Pub Channel: Lost Souls Trading Post

It has been 5 days already. Do you know how many exact days this situation last?
Thank you so much.

It's either going to be indefinitely (as ships are), or 30 days (as anchored secure containers are). I can't remember which.

The fastest way to get rid of them is to use combat scanner probes to scan them down and then collect them.

It seems difficult to scan them down for a new player, I will try.
Thank you.

Does this bother you that much?

There are people doing nothing but searching for drones and MTUs.
They get forgotten really often.

Not to mention the lost drones you find can be resold in Market, I know a few people who make some pretty good ISK doing that.

Well, feel free to chalk up another run on that particular board. I have found several Geckos and various other faction drones just drifting around in space.

Also when you do missions or exploration sites, kill the first thing and bookmark the wreck. That way you can always return later, even after you complete the mission or site, because your bookmark will always take you there.

Heh I've left Geckos behind in the past, and found loads of hobs etc while searching for them.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

I thnk there's a time limit for claiming them as well, I can't recall what it is. It was something like if you didn't get them in 24 hours, they lose your corporate tag and anyone can take them without becoming suspect.

However, be careful. A common HiSec bait game is to leave some drones laying around an asteroid field and some silly miner scoops them up and immediately gets a suspect tag and gets fired on by the cloaked ship that is nearby, that most likely left the drones there to start with.

I go drone hunting sometimes.

People forget them all the time.
Abandoned drones don't give you a a suspect flag if you scoop them. I did find some slightly shiny abandoned drones in a mission site with rats, so I killed the rats and scooped the drones. The rat loot was yellow, so one way you might be able to mess with people is to leave drones in a mission site full of rats.

While timeouts before objects in space are actually removed, and aggression related 'baiting' mechanics are worthy of giving consideration and research into to. OP, ... you might want to look into the lore and eve pop-culture that concerns rogue drones.

Leaving stray drones out in space might lead to more drones going rogue /o\

That's why I said "I think" because I didn't know if it was on a timer or the abandonment mechanic. I have run across drones that have NO corporate or owner tags on them. I was told they timed out and were fully abandoned. So if you know something different then correct me with the actual mechanic so that all may learn including me.

People can scoop them immediately when you abandon them or warp off. There's never a penalty for taking them so you can't bait someone with drones.

The relevant part is that eventually you can't recall them to your bay by reconnecting because they don't belong to you so you have to fly to them and scoop them instead.

If they are in your personal assets, they are not in space.

I recently had some drones in space before down-time, and didn't get them back in time. I was surprised to find they had been moved to my hangar. I think it was in my home station (where medical clone is set - click on your portrait in Neocom).

So check your asset hangars. Or post a picture -- use http://eve-files.com/ -- so we can see what you mean.

You can try to abandon some drones near your station and check your API. I think it will show them in the space.
