Lugh and Donnachadh,

it is an observation I made with the folks in Stain. They bait us with that Prophecy and "DING" goes the cyno and they need to drop 2 thanatos on a Brutix, Caracal and Nosprey.

It is addressed to the ramulans, kaos, bad sacks and unhappy cartel and only them. Those lifeforms cannot pvp, so they let fighter fight for them - server versus player ship combat.

back in 2006-2007 or 2008 we didn't have gun grouping, so we had to press F1-F8 to shoot our guns as fast as you could hit your keyboard.
Gun grouping came a little later.

You can still find videos from that era when a large fleet fight was fought at very long ranges between 200-ish pilots in space. If I find the one I remember, I will update my post with the youtube link.


Edit:
This is not the one I meant but I shows a Megathron pilot from back in the day in a smaller fleet. You can see how all the railguns were ungrouped because we didn't have that option.
You can also see some smaller moving "stars". They may look like neutron stars but they are torpedoes fired from a Scorpion.

Back in the day torpedoes were dangerous - even ungrouped.

This is actually one of those ideas for the "fat" and lazy.

We can already do what the OP talks about ...
... but he wants a button for it ...
... for no reason but because there is none.

And THAT means that he's too lazy to do it.


This is not an idea that adds anything at all ...
... it is an idea that supports the inadequat.

No not more DPS, DPS is an average concept. His suggestion would not change that.

It seems it is mostly an eye-candy thing. If it is just that and client side, then couldn't it be an option on the client? He selects for it, I don't care so I don't even move from default.
