"This week in EVE" is a weekly overview of EVE Online related news and events and shows what is going on in EVE Online. The focus of this overview is on official news from CCP: For example, dev blogs and important forum posts by CCP developers, the ever evolving background story and upcoming events. The previous weekly overview can be found here.

The current "This week in EVE" gives an overview of the previous week from August 20 to 26

Dev blogs and announcements
The Battle Of SH1-6P - Screenshot Contest Results
On August 21 we saw a gigantic fight over a Circle of Two Capital Ship Assembly Array in the solar system SH1-6P (in the region of Tribute) involving a massive supercapital fleet. At the end of the fight, which involved more than 2500 pilots, the value of destroyed ships and items exceeded 1000 billion ISK. We invited you to share any screenshots you had from this fight (and win some nice prizes), the results are impressive and show the beauty of massive EVE battles!

Issues With API Key Management - Resolved
On August 24 we experienced issues with the API Key management system on community.eveonline.com. This issue has been resolved.

Join our mass test on August 30
We invite you to join the next mass test on the test server Singularity on August 30. Joining the mass test is very easy (simply choose the server in the EVE Launcher dropdown menu), but please familiarize yourself with the special test server rules first (e.g. no general non-consensual pvp). Thank you! Further information can be found here.

Two More EVE Vegas Ticket Holder Draw Winners Announced!
On October 28th through 30th, Las Vegas will host the biggest gathering of internet spaceship pilots on the North American continent packed with EVE related presentations, roundtables and activities, along with game demos of all CCP's current titles. If you have purchased an EVE Vegas ticket, you have the chance to win a nice upgrade sponsored by CCP! The latest two winners of such an upgrade are Luc Ferros and Jiradus Tazinas. Congratulations! There are still more prizes available, stay tuned!

Alliance Tournament XIV
Alliance Tournament video ads
You are most welcome to create videos ads to be played during the Alliance Tournament (the tournament takes place in October). While we generally require that the video used cannot contain copyrighted material, we can make an exception if the artist/owner of the track gave expressive permission and is credited accordingly.

Thunderdome event server - PCU cap increased
Thunderdome, the new event server, allowed only 200 people to be logged on concurrently. This cap has been increased to 1000 concurrent players.

Issues and workarounds
Changes to minimum OS requirements
On June 30th 2016 we had discontinued support for the old EVE launcher which will also brought our Windows XP and Vista support to an end. Even in the case that the old EVE Launcher is still working, please be reminded that this might change any time and without any announcement. We simply do not support those operating systems any longer. While Windows Vista will continue to work with the New Launcher for some time, possibly even years we are not testing on Windows Vista anymore so we won't be able to tell you right before it breaks.

Issues with AMD graphics cards and Minmatar hangars
We have received reports that a crash is occurring for anyone using an AMD graphics card, has their shader settings set to "High", and is attempting to enter a Minmatar hangar. A work around for now, while we are investigating this issue, would be to set your shader settings to "Low" or to switch over to the DX9 client. We are looking into this issue!

Playing EVE on the Mac - Performance
You can play EVE Online on the Mac using Wine (or via other means). While performance improvements are good, there are other aspects that needs to be considered as well. For example stability...

I'm here to just point out that the battle that made it to the top of this list would have never taken place over any of the new sov timers. Nor an active Keepstar.
Think about it, you [as CCP] actively promote the game using those massive clashes yet remove all but few reasons for them to happen.

CCP, let me remind that this is the 28th week since the New Shїtty Camera was introduced, and the 12th week since you've disabled the an Old Camera. And we still can not set our Custom Tracking Position.
And our ships still want to run off the screen or hide behind HUD and fixed channel windows when dynamic camera movement enabled.
When you begin to fix camera work? Soon or SOON™?

Are you going to put an option to disable the shaky movement for docking/undocking?
Even a black screen would be better than this. It really _is_ a health issue for me (vertigo, headache), and from what I've seen for a couple of other people too.

There's a dynamic camera option you can turn off in the Esc menu.

Maybe he like dynamic offset while autotracking enabled, and only docking animation causes headache.
That's why we asked to make a separate toggle for docking animation. But stubborn CCP developers combine different features into one "Dynamic camera movement" toggle.

CCP, PLEASE SEPARATE DYNAMIC CAMERA MOVEMENT AT LEAST INTO 3 TOGGLE: DYNAMIC OFFSET, DYNAMIC FOV, STUPID DOCKING ANIMATION.
