Keeping my ship view the same

Hey all, ultra n00b question here. I'm just wondering if there's a way to keep the view of my ship constant all the time. So the camera following my ship would always be in the same configuration.

Thanks,
Alektra.

I've often thought the same thing in my 8 years of playing this game.

I would say no there isn't an option available but I don't really mess around with the camera settings much.

If somebody does know I'd like to have that info as well.

why do you need to see your ship? you know what it looks like.

There's a huge amount of people out there only relying on the overview for situational awareness ...
... who are uncoincidentially a big part of the target audience for ship skins.

And besides, what use has all the devtime been for ...
... when no one ever looks at them.

That ringing in your ears you're experiencing right now is the last gasping breathe of a dying inner ear as it got thoroughly PULVERISED by the point roaring over your head at supersonic speeds. - Tippia

Actually I'm a n00b, as evidenced by my asking a question in the n00b section so I don't know what they look like. But thanks for playing our game, we have a lovely home version for you to take with you.

Well, in answer to what the other players have posted -

I want to keep my camera view behind my ship so that my viewpoint is automatically looking forward. If needed I'll rotate the view manually to look at other things on grid when needed. That makes it much easier to see if there's any celestial items already lined up for quick 'warp out' action.

One thing is for sure, I don't need the view to constantly be looking at the front of my ship when undocking or be looking at the side of it after jumping through a gate. Also don't need the view to be all zoomed in so that the ship fills up the entire screen.

There's a few other issues as well but I think I've made my point now.
