The Fool is traditionally viewed as one who is heedless of danger.

This can be attributed to wild courage, plunging madly towards a goal and damn the consequences.
Or, on the flip side of the coin, reckless stupidity wandering obliviously into peril.

The difference is razor thin, and often determined by the amount of booze involved.... but I digress.

Flying a JF under war dec, presumably without scouting ahead, doesn't strike me as wild courage.

Don't be so salty, they simply manifested as the consequence of your actions.
Just consider it a very expensive lesson.

While I agree that Mr. B-Fck is indeed shortsighted (a common trait for trolls), his snide sarcastic reply was actually directed towards me. In fact the majority of his remarks are so fail they're not even worth the time to type a reply. However they're definitely worth the time to 'Report' (Select Flag icon next to Date/Time stamp in Header of posted reply). Course the usual rule is 'Don't Feed The Trolls', meaning just ignore them.

Since you've already stated your case and viewpoint to which I agree and due to the fact that the main content of your post has now been heavily censored by ISD, I think it's best if you just reported your thread and request it to be locked.

Very brief summary of the chat-logs:

OP: asked for a ransom deal
VMG: Told him 3.5 bil
OP: Paid 3.5 bil...

then a confused tangle of people talking over each other...And clearly not reading 50+% of what their counterparts were even saying:
VMG: Offered to buy his Jump Freighter for the 3.5 bil he just gave them - if he jumped out in space...(payment afterwards, of course)
OP: Told them the freighter was too damaged and would explode if he jumped out
OP: Told them he could just loot stuff for them for a while, like a fun JF pet...
VMG: Took this as acceptance of their "offer" to "buy" the ship
VMG: Got paranoid and assumed every ship on grid was the OP's alt coming to save him or his cargo
etc, etc, etc,

And then VMG blew up the JF + pod. And here we are.


edit: Oh yes after the incident there was some more arguing with another VMG member - OP of course bragged about his trillions of spare isk he plans to spend on lots of mercenary work that totally would have gone to VMG if they had "honoured their deal"....

I disagree. I think it's actually quite hard to find real "pirates" in EvE, not that they don't exist. I think people commonly mistake "any lowsec pvper, or anyone who is flashy or in some way scary" for pirates. The difference being most people just like fights and support their PvP with missions / mining etc, whereas actual pirates fight for PROFIT. If you don't support yourself by combat / stealing etc i don't think you're a pirate, you just like fights.

My 2c anyway.

I personally let Khromius fly my JF around all the time with no problems.
This is obviously a case where op didnt follow instructions.

I mean I dunno how close the OP was to escaping with his jump freighter, or if he was still approaching gate or anything...but I think he probably is dumb enough he would have jumped out of the JF if you had repped it up a little so it wouldn't explode.

Obviously your a special snowflake, you post primarily on a merc forum thread area about one of the best merc alliances in the game right now, being dishonorable when no one has to respect or uphold any ransoms as it's a game, then you openly admit that you have plenty of isk to replace it hereby adding you to every gank and wardecs list.
