So someone bought my kill right but I don't see the money from it at all or anything?? So if you put a kill right for 50 million isk and someone buys it where does the money go?

It comes to you, you must have misread or put the wrong figure in, check your wallet transactions.

How do you know someone bought the killright? Could it just have expired after 30 days?

Yes there are issues with the killright system. You put it up for too much and nobody will pay it, too low and the perp will remove it himself.

I shed a killright yesterday that had been put up for free. I got in a noobship and killed myself with my alt in another noobship.

Fyi expensive killrights are 90% of the time an insurance scam..
Set it too high and no one will activate it.
