LOL. You must be intimidated by me. You should learn to chill bro.

Yet you're the crying your little eyes out...How about instead of whining here, you go and read-up on how to survive and play EVE.

Chill bro. I know how you want to punch me right now, but you're just a kid so I don't mind you at all. I did "read-up" and now I'm back here to find a way how to stop this bs childish "code" thing from ruining EVE. If you are oppressed by this code, don't be shy and go against them. You have the right to be free.

If you had truly read up, as you claim, you would have found the crime and punishment forums, the various anti-ganker channels and groups that already exist, and put time and energy into working with them.

Haven't gotten to them yet, just a few basics of the game. I won't expect to see my self to read up everything. I will get to the bottom of this and find a cause that is against this bs "code" and take them down.

So they probably offered to refund the cost of his ganked ship, if he posts on the forums and stirs up a bit more traffic to their website. Because let's face it, they've been dead on these forums for a while.

And he's giving it his all.

It's the new bonus room.

Ok so i'm gonna delete that part where I "advertised' their website. Oh god. I can't believe how smart you are and how you figured this all out. You must be an A-class junkie like the other guy.

No, it's just that we all know who CODE is, and:

1. You're explaining things that don't need an explanation. Like if I were to explain some game mechanic, and by "game" I mean EVE, this game, here's a link to the official website, and here's a link to the forums, that's the game I'm talking about.

2. You're doing what they usually do, which is post some bullshit complaint post from "a newbie" for the sole purpose of advertising their website.

3. You're posting about a group that's somewhat universally hated, or at least despised, which is why your thread has exploded, and will likely fill up with flames and trolling posts.

To give you the benefit of the doubt, this game is an unrestricted PVP game, and you don't have to consent to PVP to have it happen to you. It has been specifically designed like that by CCP. CODE and others are just looking for fights, and miners or haulers are easy kills. And they're wrapping the whole extortion racket in a thick layer of pseudo-religious "roleplay", because religious topics are even more likely to **** people off and cause all sorts of posting in rage all over the place.

Which ultimately makes them feel relevant, as if they're making a difference.

So now you know.

You have been extorted for isk by a group of role players. Welcome to eve. It is part of the game. I wish you had not paid but do be it.

Your next course of action Will help determine your future in EVE. Your choices are:

Complain on the forums and quit, this game may not be right for you.

Go the solo route... Open your in game map, set the statistic to average pilots in space and pick a spot in hi sec that is not as popular. Less chance to run into CODE and the like. The drawback, you will need to haul stuff to and from a trade hub, so research and prepare.

Join Eve University, take some.courses and educate yourself better.

Join a decent new player friendly Corp that may be able to better educate you or help you. Try Brave Newbies or Pandemic Horde. DO NOT FALL FOR RECRUITMENT SCAMS!!! Research those in eve and be a little cautious. If someone asks you for 500 mil isk to join it is probably a scam. Still, safety in numbers helps and you can find those that will help educate you.

I hope this helps!

Thank you.

Who could have thought that a shuttle and pod loss to CODE of a mere 45 mill almost TWO years ago still draws tears.

I like this. Makes more sense. I apologize that you all guys feel I am whining about this kind of activity in game where players can dictate how other players should live their lives in-game.

To all others who thought I was part of the code, no I'm not and I am just like you who are against it. Someday, I will get to the bottom of this and confront the makers of this code myself (or at least I'll try doing so.)

There was no game rule which said you had to buy the permit. You just wanted to keep your next ship. There's no game rule which says they have to honor it, either. They just want to be able to sell permits as part of their in-game culture, and not honoring them doesn't really help them.

Other players can tell you how to play the game. You can accept their advice, or you can refuse it. They have presented you with a meaningful choice, and the nature of the game has allowed you the freedom to choose.

you should join a space guild and be protected, you can also ask the space guild master to reimbruse your permit

Friendo... using slurs related to Latinos yourself, how ironic. If you got beef, just rare roast it and get an occupation.

I am aware that it is PVP oriented, and all along I though I was safe to mine in Hi sec. PERIOD.
Player-driven government or whatever you call it is bad. If I don't abide to their rules and pay for their "permit", where should I go then?

I am a new player and I only know the basics of the game. I don't know what all these fancy talk about CODEs and stuffs are all about. I am out of Rookie Help chat so I've been playing more than a month, but I consider myself new.

And no, I am not just another whiner attention seeker type, but I'm sure you are an arrogant douche in real life buddy.

It is not PvP oriented, it is PvP centric. There is no safe place in EVE. You can play solo just fine in all areas of space. But you need to know what you do. If you're older than a month when your first ganking experience hit, you were lucky anyway.

This is also a mmoRpg and at least part of what code does is role play. Don't take them too serious. But learn to keep your profile in a way that they don't see a reason to actively hunt you.

Not all their rules are just rules. At least some are actually born out of solid advice. There are some basic general "rules of EVE" like "Don't fly what you cannot afford to lose". Obviously it's up to you to disregard them. But don't come here and complain about whatever happened to you afterwards. People will troll you.

If you are looking for a more civilized forum, there's the new citizens questions and answers. The welcome new players get is usually more friendly than here in general discussion.

Oh, and last but not least: Notwithstanding the motives of code members, the advice to mine in a procurer or skiff instead of a retriever was literally rock solid and completely altruistic.

Remove standings and insurance.
