Other MMO's .. just 1. The Secret World
It's the only game that has ever scared me whilst playing it.
Much the same way that Homeworld is the only game that has ever made me feel very emotional :D

The secret world is a great mmo. It offers more than just the traditional raiding and grinding. Some gameplay is akin to single player games by including investigation and stealth. Really enjoyed it until I hit Tokyo

People keep saying this, it always is top of the list on mmorpg.com but when I check it out it just feels terrible and crap and doesn't at all entice me to try it. It looks so bland. What am I missing?

I've barely started with EvE, but I think it'll probably soak up a lot of my gaming time for the next while. Big smile

Besides the above, I'm usually more of a shooter junkie, and I've spent many more hours than I probably should on Overwatch (my latest fling), TF2, Battlefield and CoD.

TSW has a lot going for it. It's free to play after the initial payment for it. Some quests are investigation, meaning you can use the ingame browser to learn about the Templars, Illuminati, etc (unless you head straight to spoilers). It has horror in a modern world setting. It's advertised has having no classes but you still have to grind away points to learn different builds etc (but you can switch between any style anytime). Another cool feature is once you've learnt a new "deck" your granted cosmetic armour, so not too much pressure on you if you like different costumes but you can still buy some cool outfits from the store.

One of the best games I've bought for 10 quid anyway

Visual Anime Novels? Embarassingly, I have not played the original game, but I'm a huge fan of Fate anime series. I'd love to play he visual novel game, but it's a lot of hassle to get it set up in non Japanese windows PC :(

Apart from MMOs

- Hearts of Iron III and IV (and all other paradox grand strategy games)
- Mount and Blade. I hope Bannerlord is going to be awesome.

Currently Red Alert 3 (steam) and watching tons of RTS matches.
Now I only need human enemies to die against.

Until i turn it around and they stop playing after three losses.
Had that once, pissed me off.

The atmosphere, story, attention to detail is why I was hooked on TSW. And the investigation quests were just so unique.
But I had it pre-ordered and the expansions were just very slow and I felt I ran out of things to do between waiting so I left for other games. Still thinking about going back though.

Would recommend that you watch this video as well Smile

Red Orchestra 2 Heroes of Stalingrad/Rising Storm (FPS)
Rise of Flight (Multiplayer WWI flight sim) - Just keeping your plane in the air is a challenge.
Silent Hunter 4: Wolves of the Pacific (WWII submarine sim)
WOT

Just finished Napoleon: Total War, it was pretty good. AI not that good though. If you set up your artillery right, you can wipe out most of the AI infantry as they cross the field to you. AI puts its own cannon in useless places, such as behind hills or woods, and it never moves them to better positions. Also your cannon gunners have x-ray vision. They'll shoot at enemy units that they can't hit because they're behind hills. They'll also shoot right through nearby friendly infantry. But, like all TW games, once in a while you get into a nasty battle that works you over and makes you sweat.

True the combat system could be a lot better.
But the storyline and side stories are really, really good.

also, confirming the fairground is creepy as ****.
but there's worse, much worse :).

edit
it's equally possible you're not missing anything at all
just like eve is not for some people
tsw could not be a game for you
and that's just fine, it's not a problem

Hey there, i don't know if you're aware of the mods for Silent Hunter. if not you should visit Subsim, there are tons of Mods for Silent Hunter IV and the other games of the Silent Hunter Series available.
I also still play it (heavily modded tho').

Sadly i don't have the time anymore to fly my trusty Albatros D.IIIa in Rise of Flight´. Sad

How can you be eagerly awaiting Civ6 have you seen the state of the graphics? It's clearly made to be a mobile game or something. tbh I was the same when Civ5 came out, I didn't touch it until G&K and BNW had both been released and the whole lot was on sale on steam for 10 quid because I didn't like the way they had changed the gameplay, but since then I've spent 800+ hours in it.

However Civ 6 I don't think I'll be able to warm to.

I recently went back and played all the Mass Effect games including ME3 with all the DLC and I really liked it, Leviathan was some great DLC, and the Citadel missions were really hard, I was a vanguard shep facing another vanguard shep on hard and I had to turn down the difficulty to beat him.

A man was reminded of Cthulhu when playing the Leviathan DLC, it was fantastic. A man also forgives you for playing Vanguard Blink Adept Master Race hehe

Edit: Perhaps a man is overthinking a thing, but that was a joke Lol . A man has experienced all classes through ME3 multiplayer and thinks every one is good Big smile

I don't gaf about the graphics in a Civ game, who plays them for the graphics? I play Civ games for the gameplay and after the letdown that was Beyond Earth, I'm just glad they've gone back to the previous style and yeah, I'm very much looking forward to playing it, especially after watching a bunch of youtube videos of pre release plays.
