Hello, i recently discovered a bug in PI.

I have a factory world making mechanical parts. The setup is simple enough. 2 launchpads. 1 stores and routes the incoming raw materials. raw materials go to the basic industry processors which were supposed to feed the advanced processors. Except i forgot to route my simple processors to the advanced ones.

In that circumstance one would expect the processors to work like reactions materials at a pos; the first cycle happens and then stops because it has nowhere to go. no further product is processed until the break in the chain is fixed.

How it actually works is the simple processors keep processing the raw materials and then just discard the un-routed final product. I lost 2million units of raw's learning about this bug.

It may be broken or designed intentionally to be that way, but it still sucks!

I believe this is the expected behaviour in the case you described. Whenever you change your links... double check ... double check ... double check. In principle you only need to learn this lesson once :)

seems like a broken game mechanic dev should fix eventually. In a woodmill, when the forklift or stackers have a problem the saws have to shutdown. the lumber doesnt just dissapear. likewise when the saw has a problem the log chain doesnt evaporate unprocessed logs, they just stop loading them. You cant draw a parralel to any kind of factory line really. doesnt make sense, should be fixed.
