Confusion over Recruiting a friend and trial account upgrades

I've used the buddy invite feature in the past (5 or 6 years ago), but am scratching my head over what the best way to do it is now to maximize my perks if I wanted to start a fresh alt to try all the new content out on.

I see I can create a 21 day trial account, and it looks like we can still get a PLEX or 30 days of game time if we pay to subscribe that alt.

My question involves the Content Packs that are on sale for $5 for 20 days of extra time. Does paying for one of those content packs count as a purchase that will enable my recruiting account to earn a PLEX? If not, does it make me ineligible to receive a reward if I subscribe after the content pack days wear off?

I read all through the Recruit a friend terms and conditions and the Content Pack details, but I can't tell whether or not that's going to deny me from getting the Recruit a Friend reward. Anybody tried it?

In the recruit a friend terms and conditions it states:
Quote:
The Recruit Program is intended for you to encourage new players to join EVE Online. Violating the purpose of the Recruit Program in any way or form is prohibited. Abusing the Recruit Program is considered an exploit and will not be tolerated. Violations of this rule will be handled by EVE Online Customer Support, and action will be taken against players who violate this rule (including, but not limited to, warnings or bans of the offending accounts and confiscation of ISK and other items).
But putting that aside, those content packs just extend the trial account so they will not count as a purchase to enable you to earn a plex.

The recruitment program rewards are only earn't when the invited account subscribes (with a valid payment option). There is no reason to think extending the trial account with a content pack and then subscribing with a valid payment option would invalidate the rewards.

If no-one comes forward to state they have done it, try a support ticket for the official answer. Just don't tell the GM you are abusing the recruit a friend program to create an alt Blink

I'm pretty sure CCP does not care if you use the buddy invite for alts. It still makes them more money in the long run by far. If you somehow found a way to avoid paying by spamming invites to yourself then that would be an exploit, but it's structured so that you can't.

I don't know about the content packs. I suspect they are not worth it since they usually offer trivial rewards.

I used a buddy invite to try out eve, purchased a content pack, and then eventually subbed. The Plex was still applied when I subbed. As an aside, I found the content pack very much worth it as it came with a booster that is only usable for new characters. I hope that helps out!

The content packs are worth it just for the time. You basically get 20 days for $5. The other stuff can be sold or kept as collector items, It also gives some skills too IIRC. The time only comes with the first pack though, so you can't buy all 4 packs and get 80 days for $20.

Unfortunately only the first payment counts. I sent in a ticket and got that answer.

I'm going to build a big wall that will keep the Gallente out, and they're going to pay for it!

I know this is more of a statement than part of your question but just for clarification sake I am not aware of any new content that is available to only new characters. iirc once you've run a career agent mission you can only get the payout once from each of the 4 race's agent. However I think that you can run them again without the free ships and skillbooks etc... or at least I am fairly certain that you used to be able to.

Also once you've completed an opportunity I don't think there is any way to reset those that I am aware of anyway. That's really just a pop-up on the screen though.

I am sure that you have other reasons for starting the alt and I'm not trying to talk you out of anything just making a clarification.
