PI - P0 extraction amounts huge decrease

I have been doing PI for a couple weeks now and I have a question.

I am mass producing P0 and then hauling it to station.

My set up
5 planets

2 launch pads each planet
2 extractors each planet
9 extractor heads each planet

I am doing daily runs 1 day 45 min still has the 15min interval

My yields were great at first. I had to move extractor heads around every few days to get on the "hot spots" <- that's mind bottling btw Big smile

Now after a couple weeks my harvest is way down by like 98%!

when I run a 1 day 45 min program I expect my yield to be around 500k per extractor after the cycle, I go to check my pi and all that was extracted was like 10k. that is 2% of what I was expecting.

Can someone help me understand what is going on?

My routes to the launch pads are good

You doing PI in HS, LS, Null or Wspace?

Low Sec

I just logged on and discovered something:

When I stop the program and re-install it.
My estimated yield is 500k .
When I submit the changes
I click on my program and the yield changed to 16k
15min interval yields about 300 P0 with 9 extractor heads going...WTF!!!??? Question

Do you know how to check if the planet is used by others? ie look for other players CC and see what they have setup. Someone may be syphoning the same resources you are.

All I know is just slowly look around the planet in planet mode for a CC is there a better way?.

All of that aside. Why would it estimate 500k output and then change to 16k output once the installed programs were executed?

It just seems to me that if there were 10 people using that planet, that it wouldn't be that much of a decrease....and also this just started happening a couple days ago.

Before all this, I was yielding close to what I was expecting.

Sounds to me like the planet is simply running out of resources. That's a pretty high impact extraction schedule you were using before, so it's not really surprising it's running out. It takes time for the resources to become available again.

You're gonna want to move to a wh or a low true-sec section of null if you want to do that intensive of PI

What sec status of lowsec are you setup in? If it's a 0.4 system, then extraction rates will be close to Hisec rates (eg: awful) and resource hotspots will deplete very rapidly. If it's a 0.1 system, things will be marginally better.

The estimate you see before you submit the ECU program is an 'estimate'. How accurate it is depends on your skill levels in Planetology and Advanced Planetology.

the horror, THE HORROR!

I would seriously encourage you to crack to P1 before export. PI chains predicated on mass haulage of P0 materials are the road down which madness lies.

Problem resolved.
Ok so what I did was just decommission the ECU and Launch pads and re-install them. and that did it I was back from 16k to 450k

lol...I know moving P0 off planets isn't thought of as efficient. but im making it work with not very much effort. I would like to opportunity to discuss PI further with anyone willing to take the time in game. Send me an evemail and I will do my best to make myself available.

I understand the "estimated amount" vs the "actual amount" I was just certain that a 98% decrease just wasn't right.

when i'm actually able to login and play with some intarwebz spaceshipz, the last thing I, and most others, want to do is talk about PI.
ask your questions in here, and we'll try to answer them.
