Whelp, looks like I'm in a bind.

I'm running the NVIDIA binaries on my Fedora 23 to get better video performance but since NVIDIA 361.28 I haven't been able to get eve to launch in my PlayOnLinux. So I've been using the older 361.28.

Now my kernel (4.6.4-201.fc23.x86_64) won't support the older binaries, in fact it only seems to support 367.35 (latest one)

Only XP mode in wine works normally for eve, no matter the version of wine (I'm currently using 1.9.12 staging)

I've tried the new launcher CCP_Snorlax has given us but it just doesn't start the exe with not much to go on in the way of errors.

I'm currently adding the extra bits into my default wine in the hopes I can get it to run under the new launcher but it looks like my next step is is unclear.

I'm hoping someone else has some ideas.

I'm doubting that an upgrade to Fedora 24 is going to help at this point but willing to try pretty much anything.

Well, I have a lot less hair than I used to, having pulled much of it out but it seems that:

nvidia-driver-libs.i686

Needed to be installed, which basically equates to the 32bit libraries for Nvidia not being properly installed by the binary drivers

This is just me guessing.

And now CCP_Snorlax's launcher works

all under the new kernel and new drivers.

I'll check Fedora 24 when I have a few hours to download the 2.3Gb of updates but I think I have to go reset my PI now ...

So both the PlayOnLinux version of eve works and the SnorlaxExpress version works.

If I could work out how to export my in game window set up from one install to another I might start using the new launcher full time.
