Not too long ago when I was doing explo in lowsec, it was fairly common to see flotillas of JF jumping in. Anywhere from 6-10 at a go, obviously heading for a market hub in highsec. And the same flotillas heading back.

Now it would seem prudent (and obvious) to any astute study of history to see the logistical advantage of numbers when doing large hauling runs --see merchant navy flotillas during WWII. Nobody could or would be able to tackle so much hardware coming at one time, even without escorts. If you chose to escort that fleet it would be all the more effective as you commit less time with greater capacity.

It is much easier and efficient to guard a flock than to try and protect them all individually. Study the KB of the wolves and you see they work much like in nature, taking the solo and straggling prey. Condense your movements and increase your safety.

As someone who uses blops almost as an addiction, an as someone who used to do so very deep in sov and goon territory, I get this 100%. This is sort of an appeal to, hey look, Vic doesn't understand basic parts of the game, or basic tactics, who wants to listen to this dingledorf?

Thing is, blops is risky. When you miscalculate, you lose a ton of stuff and look like a total donkey. Is that ship -really- alone? Is it really PvE fit? Is there some other gimmick I do not see here? This is what makes it fun and balanced - usually you get away with the gank, use numbers and burst to make a quick risk free attack and then it is done. However, the threat of a counter drop is real, and can be devastating - there is actual counter-play.

Wardecs are not risky at all. There IS no counter play to wardecs except to avoid HiSec. Everything in the game should carry opportunity risk. When an alliance can literally dec 300+ entities, and have no repercussions as they actually have no time when they are vulnerable, no attackable assets, and no actual skin in the game, it shows there is no actual risk involved with it.

And that bring us to high sec.
This is the only area of the EvE universe where the "war dec" mechanic actually has some use so let's take a look at your idea and how it applies there.
Let me see a mechanic that requires that you hold sov to be able to declare war applied to an area of space where no one can EVER hold sov. And you think this is a good idea?

Yeah. Again, sov has no perks to it what so ever. Most of the game realizes this is one of the big issues with the current sov. I don't care that you can wardec Marty G Miner's day old corp and blow up his retriever, great! I find it dumb that you can do this at no actual risk to your own assets. If only sovereign entities had the power to declare war, and there was actually some counterplay and liability on the part of the deccers, things would be far more balanced. Sure you can dec the entire game, but now they actually can do something about it.

Vote Vic Jefferson for CSM X.....XI.....XII?
