Nonsense. I rat all the time (it's almost all i do). The "PVP" part of ratting is making isk while not dying to people who want you to explode. Evasion is defense, and is thus pvp. So is baiting (pretending to be a pve ship but really having some pvp and tackle capability). If you are "defenseless" in this game, it means you have failed to understand the game and it's players.

It's ok to be utterly clueless. It's not ok to let every know you are utterly clueless.

It's really not, it's actually incredibly vacuous. Additionaly, PVP = player vs player. It's non-specific about what the competition is, it's just player vs player. So any time players find themselves in competition, over anything, be it resources or just survival, it's PVP. If you are defenceless in this game, it's only because you've chosen to be for whatever reasons, but that does not exclude it from being PVP, because like it or not, this is a PVP game, and the moment you log in, be it to trade on the market or fight in nul sec, you have entered a PVP arena.

The OP stated his opinion, I don't know for a 'Fact" that "everyone" thinks it is broken. What I do know is that the debate instantly devolved by throwing out the "red herring" of Character KB, ganking. etc. A reply to discussion forum that becomes off topic ceases to be a discussion. I feel that the Manufacturing Cost are in line with the economic realities of Eve.

I am not posting this to support or debunk his argument. I can only rely upon my experience using third party tools and market data that tells me the cost are in line. My opinion only. Nothing more.

Not being hypocritical or complaining about a "problem". Merely stating the obvious after reading through all the responses to the OP thread.

You say I'm 'parroting' CODE, but I'm only speaking the truth of high sec. Apparently, it needs to be repeated, and I do this as a courtesy for you. From my point of view, they hit the 'undock' button. That makes them fair game, everywhere. In fairness, I too have also hit 'undock', at which point I fully accept that I am fair game for all and sundry.

A 'defenseless' player is a stupid player. A T1 hauler can use the MWD/Cloak trick. Ratters can use their intel channels and D-Scan. Even once tackled, a non-stupid ratter is far from 'defenseless'. Taking simple precautions, like packing a flight of ECM-300 Hornets has saved many, many VNIs and other far more exotic ratting vessels.

I've found that stupid players, by and large, seem to put their faith in blingy deadspace and faction modules to save them. This is fine by me as it makes them very profitable game to bag. If they're not stupid, they're very, very challenging game to chase. A chase that involves lightning quick combat probing, scouting, logoffskis, the occasional bubble trap and, if all that goes well, a covert cyno. I kind of enjoy that chase. I'm not terribly good at it, yet.

So once again, you're argument is invalid. I'm kind of losing track of what your argument actually is.

If I may make a suggestion: You're involved with a decent alliance, go help 'em shoot someone in the face every once in a while.
