Did you notice that this happens way more often in the last weeks ...
... compared to all the years before?

We're actually considering swapping this forum software out for Discourse.

We're already using it for the EVE Valkyrie Forums

Go take a look at the layout and see if you like it. Currently working on a proposal and list of requirements for it over the summer Smile

Errrr, that actually looks far worse then what our current forums look.
For the love of god dont.... (and no, im not saying this because im against change, because i hate how little mobile friendly this forum is, but that one looks utter ****).

I kind of like this old style forum look the eve forums have.
It's nice and easy to find things but that could just be my personal bias to antiques.

Might as well rebrand it in an alpha stage for beta testers and see how the feedback goes.

Smartphone? What's a smartphone? I'm the only thing called "smart" around my precincts. Certainly, no inanimate object is called "smart" around me. You? You have a thing that's smarter than you? It's summer. If you want "layout" go layout by a pool and turn your greenish white skin a little tan. I hear the vitamin D works well with the brain...smartphone.

In the early days of CRT monitors we had white text on a dark background. It didn't work, even young people were getting eye strain and headaches. Manufacturers tried different phosphors - green and amber were each popular for a while but the problem remained until we switched to black text on a paper white background - studies showed dramatic improvements in readability and reduction in eye strain. More recently, a lot of research has gone into developing screen fonts like Verdana and Georgia for maximum readability. This is a well solved problem so why are Eve fonts - for forums, chat, email and practically everything else doing the opposite of what has been proven to work! Reddit got it mostly right - dark text on a light background. Maybe that partly explains its popularity!

If you're going to change the forums, have pity on those of us who actually remember the old CRT terminals - our eyesight hasn't improved since then.
