Is the following calculation still relevant or has it changed?

Ore Volume = 25000 * LN(Asteroid Radius) - 112407

This is to calculate how many units of ore from one rock.

Yes I know you can use a Survey Scanner II but that's beside the point, I would still like to be able to work this out without hardware.

Thanks.

Trying to figure out how much there is in an asteroid by looking at it might not be the best way to go about it.

People sometimes don't extract everything from an asteroid, because their cargo is full and when they come back, they won't waste a miner cycle to finish it because it has too little ore.

The end result is you have a lot of apparently big rocks floating around that have next to no ore in them.

Oh understand all of that. It's mostly for a time to mine calculation, although it would be sweet if CCP had some system in place to change the asteroid radius as it gets depleted.

I could use the scanner on Orca of course but I don't always have my Orca pilot's account activated for financial reasons.
