Does planet resource composition change?

After viewing a planet in planet mode I can look at the planetary scan and see the composition of the resources on the planet.

I know that areas on the planet are depleted and you have to back off extraction for them to recover, but does this affect the overall composition of the resources on the planet.

Does this composition change over time with extraction? Looking at the link below, do the sliders change over time or are they set?

In my experience the ratio of resources on a planet is relatively constant but, when depleted, deposits will not respawn in the same place and the concentration can vary. How long a particular deposit lasts also depends on the number of people harvesting it.

The composition is fixed, but the concentration and location of spots varies.

Good. I'm glad it's fixed because I generally survey a region carefully before deciding what to build and where. I don't mind moving factories and extractors around but moving planets starts getting very expensive.
