Was working fine last night but now has, "Eve.exe Extremely High CPU and Memory Usage"

Anyone else having this issue or have any ideas?

We're talking +50% CPU and 600 MB memory usage atm...

There is a thread on this in issues and workarounds. im running 600-800 mb memory use per client and 4-10% CPU use per client which is higher than what it use to be for me. I would never go above like 7% and rarely made it to 5%

600mb is a lot? Are you playing on a 1999 Dell or what?

Memory usage is normal and not very high. Cpu is off though.

Depends on the CPU

It would take some convincing to prove to me that a cpu slow enough to normally run eve at 50% could even run windows 7 or higher.

Windows 7 actually has fairly low requirements. Youd be surprised. My moms pre windows vista computer can run 7.

I'm sorry. Only 13% here, while on the forum server at the same time (and running Task Manager). Though ethernet throughput spikes off the chart intermittently. 450 memory, or so.

For those reading along, before saying "the game" or "the launcher" you might eliminate "your computer" as the problem first. CCP and I disagree on quite a few things, but certainly not efficiency in the server/my processor/bandwidth arena.

Why do I get the feeling some people are still using the computer they got for graduation in 1996?

You need to detail Ram + CPU + VideoCard + DX9 or DX11, OS and Vid drivers can be important too.

A lot of things can get pushed back to the CPU if the VidCard doesn't do well with it.

Not enough ram can lead to a lot of caching and slow performance (in general).

My system is about 7 years old now (yikes, hate to admit that), but I can easily run 5 clients at once as long as there's not an awful lot of things going on. Sadly even with 1 client running I cant enter the flight-sim style of movement... 60s judders followed by 5 mins of smooth play.

Thanks for all of your replies!

Could you submit a bug report from the in-game bug reporting tool, which you can get to by pressing F12 and clicking Report Bug?

Please include a screenshot and make sure you're running in the configuration that causes this problem at the time you submit the bug. Feel free to post your bug report number here once you've done this.

I've got it down to about 25% of my CPU (which is high). I think the issue is with my NVIDIA GeForce GT 640 graphics card. I'm not sure if it's going out but it's acting up.

Windows 10 Pro
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) II X2 250 Processor 3.00 GHz
Installed Memory (RAM): 5.00 GB (THOUGHT IT WAS MORE)
System Type: 32-bit Operating System, x64-based processor

If something works I tend to run it until it dies :-)

Hi,

I have the same issues since Saturday (2016/09/03) and did not change anything on my PC. There was a new GFX driver that I installed on Sunday to check if that solves the problem. My Bug Report got closed with no real solution.
The problem occurs mostly if I tab to another client or if I am outside of EVE windows.

Is there any usefull solution?
