Mac Uninstall - tens of thousands of files?

I was just running some housekeeping and uninstalled Eve Online - the normal way, by dragging it to the Trash. I also went and found two folders in /username/Library/Application Support, one called CCP and one called Eve, and moved them to the Trash also.

When I then went to empty the trash (and there was very little else in it) - I noticed to my horror that I was deleting something like 88,000 files. I killed the empty function, but it looks like it completed and I am worried that I may have done some damage.

Would Eve have thousands of files like this? It looks like I've freed up about 20GB, which does seem about right for Eve, from what I remember. I do have backups, but at the moment am not sure what to go looking for.

That numbers sounds right to me. That would be counting every file in all those folders you deleted.

You where probably thinking okay three folders but in reality there are thousands of files between those folders. Logs, cache files etc.

Thanks for the reassurance. Nothing has exploded yet so I think I'm in the clear.
