Hello space friends,

I have been working on developing a new eve related website to host some tools that the public may find useful.

A lot of which will be updated versions of past tools, such as moon goo'ry, ore charts etc.

This project is a little hobby of mine and as such is a WIP.

Tool List arranged by access level: As of 2016-09-14

Public:
Ore Chart - View mineral yields based on skills/facility and if it's better to sell raw ore or reprocess.
Reprocessor - Paste in list of items to see if it's better to sell or reprocess them.
Structure Viewer - View information about corp structures. Requires login and be sure to check the 'allow EVE Tools to view corporation structures' checkbox before clicking the sign in with eve online button.

Semi-Private:
POS Manager - Web based pos manager. Convo/mail for inquiries. Screenshots

Any questions/comments etc feel free to mail me.

Quite honestly nothing.

Yes I will know where your r64s are.

Yes I will know what reactions you are doing.

Yes I will know what your stront timers are.

But it is not my intention to spy on you. I wish to provide a service and you can be assured that the data will not be shared with anyone besides myself. It is not a good business practice go about selling data when in reality I want people to use it knowing they are getting a good service and I am getting enjoyment from providing it, and experiences as web development is my major. Moons are also static and have been around long enough for the vast majority of people to know where they are.

So in the end it is up to you whether or not you use it. Of course I would rather that you do :)

EDIT: Pretty sure this applies

So I couldn't even if i wanted to.

Maybe you can go two track here
- unsupported self-hosted solution package for those concerned about security,
- web service hosted by you & charged ISK/month

I suppose that is an option. Would want to strip the code so that it is just the pos manager as i currently use the site for other personal things other than just the pos manager. But yea, that may be a path worth going. WIll have to see how it goes i guess.

We deal with a lot of Amazon Web Services (AWS) at work. I'm currently setup with a Tomcat server and postgres db there (with both windows server 2002 and Linux clean images, save the latest SDE is loaded on the postgres db). I'd be glad to share those images, or help anyone interest setup their own images on AWS. I believe they still provide a free year for micro instances to new accounts.

This is a fantastic way to host

Was actually looking at those free hosting services like Amazon's but my current hosting solution is a better than even some of the paid ones. Thanks for the tip tho.

This is not some cheesy free thing. The free "micro instances" (1 core, limited memory virtual machine, limited services) is just enough to develop on and get one hooked into their silo and see what they have available. It will blow you away if you look at what they can/do provide.

This is a heavy duty, industrial grade cloud, with top of the line security, auto scaling from that micro instance to ridiculous , only pay for what you use, guaranteed uptime in the 99.9999 (forgot how many nines), queuing services, non-sql/sql services, etc. etc. etc.

I work for a huge international company and like many others they are bailing from the old days of having their own multi-million dollar raised floor, Halon protected, super cooled computer rooms to AWS, or google or ... MS madly trying to catch up.

There is noway that your personal resources, or ISP resources (unless they are actually using one of these three in the background) can touch what is offered here.

AWS is truly "The Cloud" available to the largest of companies, down to me in my home on my desktop for cheaper than current ISP's can provide.

Again thanks for the suggestion but this thread is not meant for these kinds of discussions.

Bump.

I don't want to discourage you from production of a good website, however, what about the fact that CCP has plans to phase out POSs in favor of citadels? Yes, I know there's nothing concrete and final and announced yet, but I'd hate for you to put in too much work on something that will be defunct.

Regardless, good luck :)

I had the same thought so i did scrap some ideas for additions i had for it. However that is a still good few months away and a corpie needed it so my as well have a good one until i can update it for the new structures.

Just a little update.

Switched my market price getting script to use fuzz's aggregate data. Basic is awesome and is sooo much faster. Highly recommended.

https://market.fuzzwork.co.uk/api/

I also refactored the script so that if an item is not for sale in Jita it will widen its scope and use the forge region data. The table also now contains all marketable items so the reprocessor should work much better now.

As always keep an eye on the changelog for other changes and any bugs please see the link on the footer.
