I think my friend's account has been stolen!

My friend logged in and out about 10-15 times yesterday, and I convoed multiple times, with no response. Frustrated, I sent mails, I even petitioned because something was seriously wrong. It wasn't like her to ignore me, honestly. My petitions are being ignored.

So now I am left with this convo. I contacted my friend on an alt, which I have blocked out. I am "Siigari" and my friend is "Friend".

It's short. Does anyone else think this is really not on the up-and-up? Also, the character was in a player corporation for over 2 years when I started the convo, and is now in Perkone AFTER the convo.

Need stuff moved? Push Industries will handle it. Serving highsec, lowsec and nullsec - and we do it faster and more reliably than anyone else. Ingame channel: PUSHX

That is highly suspicious.

But what struck me was that I didn't know the character had to be in an NPC corp before being sold in the character bazaar.

Also, it strikes me as more odd that the person talking to you was unwilling to hand over the API information. Handing over even the full API information will only do just that: give information on the character. It doesn't give access to an account. And besides, if the person was afraid of having his/her assets looked at, he/she only need to uncheck the box that allows people to view the assets.

Other than EVE, do you have any contact information?


My suggestion, if you really are concerned, present your case to CCP. At the very least they could send an email tot he person to check.

No, we were old alliance mates from like, 4 years ago. We were friends then, but then life got in the way and we split alliances and all sorts of that stuff.

I have no contact information. What really irks me though is on the second I got a convo from her and it said:

[ 2011.12.02 15:58:01 ] Friend > got seriously curious about eve again today and reactivated all my accounts :)

SO WTFFFFF

My guess is that the account was indeed sold, but for real money on ebay, violating CCP's TOS. Your post will probably cost the new owner his purchased property. Which may or may not be good depending on where one stands on these issues.

Indeed, most likely the Account has actually been sold through a non-legit way like Ebay.

This automatically bypasses the whole CCP's rule that the Character has to be in NPC corp.

Noticed that I posted account and character in bold.

Characters can be bought and sold from 1 account to another.
It's more likely the person in question bought the entire account for RL money and now holds the log in / e-mail that goes with the account.

EDIT:

Where there are rules, there are people who break them. This is a simple fact and happens all over the world. Why else does every country in the world have some form of law enforcement.
