I have a peculiar problem with Eve Online now a days. I submitted a ticket to CCP about it, but it's been 8 days and they haven't responded at all. My client (not the launcher) is crashing randomly. Characteristics:
- It started about 5-6 months ago.
- It has survived an OS-reinstallation and major hardware upgrade (CPU/MB/RAM).
- It crashes in the way that the screen suddenly goes black for several seconds and when it comes back, one or several of the clients have crashed, along with the Nvidia kernel driver. This can happen several times in a row.
- It can happen as soon as I get into the game, but it can also take several hours.
- Rerolling my graphics driver haven't helped (tried a December-release, before the problem started showing). Updating to the latest haven't helped either.
- Forcing the game to run in DX9 instead of DX11 changes the way it crashes. The black screen and the Nvidia kernel driver still crashes but the game clients doesn't (atleast not yet, but I've had about 6-7 crashes by now).
- My other games are working fine (I had one freeze in Total War Warhammer directly after the new patch, but that's probably unrelated).

I'm thinking that it's something in Eve Online that's been updated around the start of the year (shortly after the December-release), since the game had worked flawlessly before that. But it could also be related to the Nvidia driver (even though backrolling to before it started didn't help). It could even be something with an update to DirectX.

Any thoughts?
