Greetings from out of space.

As a newer player with a little bit of everything skillwise, this event was both a positive and negative influence on my view. Let us start with the negatives first.

1) The main sites that you had to clear was hard for me. It was a lot of incoming damage and I had to avoid using drones so I wouldn't aggro the whole site. I had to warp out constantly due to the incoming damage. Mind you, before you start flaming me, I only have like 7-8m sp and half of it isn't combat related. I really struggled until a friend came up with a cap stable shield Gnosis fit that I then could start running sites with. That ship changed everything but he dropped like 70m isk on it to help me out. A newer player would not have that kind of isk, because I didn't.

2) The other players...well, this was somewhat of an annoyance in which I would go in and start the site, and then someone else would come in and take my loot that I worked hard for. While I have had a couple of people let me have the loot since I was running it first, a good 90-95% didn't care and for lack of a better term, stole the loot from me. I am not rolling in isk and even these 'cheap' items that drop do help my isk balance, so they are important to me. I was told to 'HTFU' and 'go biomass yourself, noob' a few times in local when I said something about it. Classy...

3) What a grind. After running what I thought was dozens of sites, I have finally stopped at around 1700 points total, not even close to the 10k minimum just to get the first box. I also noticed that some of them expired and reset when I didn't complete them and had to log off. And having several different combat sites, I wasn't really getting anywhere in the points department because three or four sites in one system might not get you anything if you need 5 or 10 sites to get the points. If I wanted to grind, I could have just gone to Diablo 3 and spent my time there.


Enough of the negatives, let's look at the positives:

1) The bounties. Wow, going through and clearing those sites was a big impact on my wallet. Getting 3-5m isk ticks running these sites was amazing, considering that was way more than I could get running L2 missions, even not looting at all. I somewhat got addicted to running them because I loved the bounties when it popped up with millions of isk coming in.

2) Nice distraction. It was different, running these sites and having to actually leave the system I am set up in and go explore and locate these isk treasures. I usually don't leave my immediate area but it was fun flying around and running these places, instead of running missions or mining to improve my wallet through manufacturing.


Now, I would like to see more of these events come up but it should also be available to those with less sp than everyone else. I know there was mining ones, but honestly those sucked for the time to put in compared to the reward given.
