So you have 50M+ SP, and you still play solo because:

I'm playing solo until I can get free PLEX, then I'll set out to pwn some cowardly gankers.

Because I have only a few hours (2-3) each day that I can sit around my computer, and not all of those hours are continuous (play for half an hour, go away for a few hours, come back play another hour, go away, etc). And anything corp related seems to take at least several continuous hours all at once, and if you can't do that then you're not really needed in the corp, because if you're not another gear for the machine then nobody wants you. It's that simple.

Then there are hi-sec corps like RvB that care not at all how long you can play or how much you contribute. If you're having fun in the corp, that's more than good enough. Wish there were more corps like that.

Because I'm in the military IRL and frequently go on deployments.
CEO's don't care and always kick me out of the corp for inactivity, despite explaining my RL situation and adequate notice of deployment.

Well, 40mil sp is the beginning of eve.
So I guess 50mil is because they wasted 10mil sp on the wrong skills ^^

When I play, I play solo because hiding my Icelandic IP all the time is too much hassle, and outing my player characters isn't an option.

The above are quite funny actually Lol

but in my case the reason I play alone is because most corp CEO's actually want players to log in more than once a week, its disgusting!

I play primarily solo because everybody else is surely mentally ******** and unreliable.
Also, because I enjoy it.

Nuff said.

No CTA's, ego-stroking, moving goalposts or petty politics. Every time I log in, I can play the game my way.

other CCP alts for wing(wo)men?

A war that would’ve involved 20,000 players, 75% of nullsec space, and hundreds of supercapitals was halted not by diplomacy, but by a game mechanic so dreadful that those who have experienced it previously have no desire to do so again. - Fix POS & SOV

Please set forth your specifications as to how I should alter my gameplay to please you. I apologize for playing incorrectly thus far.

Fake Edit: Actually, I don't play solo, but I don't see why you should care how anyone else plays. Make your own space game where solo play is not permitted.

I play solo these days since those I used to fly with no longer play. Haven't run into a group quite like them since. I find nullsec boring or I'd join an alliance; I prefer small gang warfare and stalking targets.

In the meantime I'm just happy to have a reason to log in once a day, and maybe once in a blue moon crank out a new Eve video. Smile

Some things ISK can't buy. For everything else, there's Jita.

I have a life. The free time that I choose to dedicate to EVE will be spent doing what I want to do, flying the ships I want to fly, how I want to fly them, and where I want to fly them. It will NOT be spent being bitched at for participating in a CTA every ******* five minutes, flying a piece of **** ship that I had to train for because that's what the alliance decided everyone was to use for the CTA, using ****** fits because that's what will be reimbursed, to do mindless tasks that takes hours, unless you happen to lose your ******, **** fit ship, and can now log off with honor, saying that you participated (read: wasted time).

Also, I just wanted to add this, playing solo means you don't have to wait 3 hours for everyone to "get ready" or "get online".

I can log on, get in one of my ships, and go do ****, or just sit and trade in a hub and make isk either way.

Also, I'm currently working on piloting a Raven well so I can stick it in a mission hub and just do those whenever I want to (at a much more efficient rate than doing them in an Apocalypse), and then a Tengu so I can have the benefits of having a ship that can use cov ops cloak and do PvE very well, and then a curse/pilgrim for PvP. If I joined a corp, I'd probably be pressured to go for the curse/pilgrim first, and I don't want to do that.

Seems through general consensus that the main reason is FREEDOM.

FREEDOM to do whatever you want, whenever you want, no matter what.

I have over 65 mill SP's, active for 3 1/2 years and mainly fly solo for the same reason, FREEDOM.

FREEDOM from Tyranny and Taxes.

Wait,

That was the old Battlecry for being in NPC Corp. They have Taxes now. What?

I still say my reason is FREEDOM.

FREEDOM of Choice.

Because I have life, family and career,

Those and Hardcore Player does not go well together in general [some exceptions are possible]

For those reason I prefer to fly in small group or solo.
The few folks that share that PVE sometime weekend PVP are welcome to fly with me and I enjoy the occasional company.

But in general the classic null sec mayhem is not for me.
Too much of time demand that is all.

For the causal player it is almost unavoidable to hang out in high sec where the environ is stable and for PVP kick just run a small roam on weekend since any prolonged campaigns take too much time.

Some others might oppose this but this is my experience.
