Removing descriptions from drop-down lists

When creating a new contract if one types some characters into the "Description (optional)" field, that entry is saved & when next creating another contract if you type a few letters a drop-down box of previous entries appears.

Does anyone know a way of removing obsolete entries from these lists? I am assuming they are cached somewhere, but I am reluctant to simply clear my cache in case that has other effects.

ANSWER FOUND - right click in the field & select "Clear History"
