Invisible Launcher - Windows 10

I know many are having launcher issues and I thought I'd provide the solution I was able to find. I specifically am using a laptop with Windows 10 64-bit OS on it. No matter what I did the launcher was invisible, though the interface was still interactive (clicking around randomly would pop up a browser with news, or forgotten password, etc.) Since I didn't know the layout of the launcher, I was unable to find the text fields for the account and password (though I tried vigorously to do so).

The fix I was able to do follows the following steps:

1. Right click on the Windows symbol in the bottom left (used to be the Start button)
2. Click on System (found most of the way up)
3. Click on Advanced System Settings (on the left)
4. Click on Environment Variables... (toward the bottom right)
5. Some of you may find a variable in the top window called QT_OPENGL, some of you won't.

5.a If you DON'T see it there, then you'll need to click New... (note, the New... I'm talking about is near the top box, NOT the bottom box)
5.b If you DO see it there, then you'll want to select it and then Click Edit... (note, the Edit... I'm talking about is near the top box, NOT the bottom box)

6. Set the variable name to: QT_OPENGL
7. Set the variable value to: desktop
8. Click OK to close the dialog, then Click OK to close the Environment Variables window.
9. Make sure all open launchers are closed before attempting to open a new one.

9++ If the launcher is not rendering properly after these steps, try changing the variable value (step 7) to one of these alternate settings:
angle
software

If it is still not rendering properly, then you have a different problem and will need a different solution.
If this guide helped you, give me a Like in appreciation. It is a small action that means a lot to me. Thanks.
If this guide didn't help you, I'm sorry, but don't blame me for CCP's oversight with their updates.
