I have canceled my main account (Ishtanchuk Fazmarai, will be effective January 14) but this one still has got time until next may. i don't feel like wasting all that money/time so I've been looking for an option to suspend an account and keep the remaining time ready in case you're back, which most MMORPG have and EVE used to have IIRC.

Can someone clarify wether it is possible to suspend this account at notice without canceling and so hold the remaining 4 months for whenever i'm back?

I have been playing Mmo's since 26th Sepetember 1997 (2 days after release of UO), i have played almost every Mmo out for at least the first month and i have NEVER heard of an Mmo that you could freeze your subscription until a later date.

EVE = buyer beware in game so it should be a lesson that extends to real life to plan ahead more thoughtfully. Easiest thing to do is just plan on checking your skill que a few times a week and log on. Its not hard or difficult, just park it at a NPC seed station with a fat wallet and add skills to the que which only takes a few minutes.

I wouldn't plan more then 3 months at a time, been kind of bumming around EVE for nearly six months and just can't stay that interested right now. Like you, my alt will be shut down in nearly a week and I plexed out a lot of isk to get a year's worth on the main. Right click - > extend time and just keep checking EVEmon which isn't that hard. If ultimately I change my mind and leave EVE for good, its only PLEX that I will worry about and I know some people I can give it to which solves the issue of paying for to much that may never get used (contract PLEX, BANG! I am done and gone. Who can't refuse those? Roll )

How is this not blatantly obvious?

You pay 14,95€/$ for each month of access to the game. Which means roughly 0,000346€/$ for each minute.
Are you trying to tell me that Any company(gaming, newspaper, TV...whatever) would survive charging this way?
I mean, it would take you less than a minute to log in, reset the skill training and then log out for the next 23 days.

Ah yes... solution. Charge more for each minute of used gametime? Cause that would be extremely useful for the people actually playing the game. :p

Please PLEASE use your brain for a second before posting.

Use YOUR brain. Inactive accounts don't get any SP. Roll

Unlike your "they used to do this" for account freazing, they used to allow skills to finish training on expired accounts.
