Its not as big of a minority as you think. Much of null thrives on destroying other peoples stuff. All the fighting that goes on in null is to destroy and/or take other peoples stuff.

I used to mock WoW because 40% of the population did EXACTLY the same kind of game-play because it was the most efficient. Whatever class character you had, you built it and equipped it like a hundred thousand other players with the same toon. It is boring to watch and play with.
When i played WoW briefly a few years ago, most of the population built toons the exact same way right down to using the same cycle for abilities. WOW is extremely linear for an " open world" game. It gets very boring very fast.

I am glad EVE allows players to play however they like, no matter how inefficient or bizarre it is. That is what make EVE to me, there is no right way to play, only a bunch of ways that aren't optimal, and yes, even the most efficient EVE player is still inefficient because if you we 100% efficient, what the heck would you play for?
I am one of those players that makes my own fits and sometimes they seem bizarre but they fit my playstyle. The only time i use someone elses fit is if its a doctrine ship. Otherwise i build each fit from scratch to fit what i want to do with it, my skill level, and how i like to play.

Some people think my fits are " inefficient" or the cookie cutter is better, but its not for me. For example, i see a lot of active tank rattlesnakes. So i built an active tank and passive tank rattlesnake in EFT. The passive tank is better, stat wise, for me. I can use one low for defense and put out a good amount of dps or i can switch out mods and make a super massive tank or anything in between. I dont have that flexibility on an active tank ship. And mine is nearly "cap careless".

Creating your own ships builds, at least to me, is part of the fun. Why take that away to get an extra 20 dps or whatever?

Nobody is going to bother killing citadels in K-space unless it's one anchored in a strategic chokehold in a system without a dockable station.
Not true about 25-33% of citadel kills are in k space. And there are many reasons to kill them in Null. Give it about 6 months for null alliances to get citadels setup and start using them more strategically and they will be tore down as often as POSes are now. Null alliances are already setting them up strategically in a lot of systems. Between building citadels and caps for alliances, null industrialists are working overtime right now.

I believe player skills don't actually affect fighters launched from a citadel.
Much like the standard missile skills don't help with the launchers.

Can anyone confirm this?

Nope...my Main runs my citadel...full drone skills....i "take control" of my citadel and goto launch drones it says that i need drones skills XXX in order to operate them...so you DO NEED the correct drone skills to launch the light fighter squadrons

Hope that helps

Yes but they are completely useless at self defense.

Do the skills actually add stats to the fighters? Or simply limit you from using them but otherwise add nothing?
As CCP claimed that normal skills wouldn't apply to Citadels, only the Citadel skills specifically in order to keep the need for dedicated gunner characters to a minimum.
