Wouldn't you like to have a bit more optimal with certain modules, a bit less cpu for some, powergrid for others or wish that that this mwd would make your signature less apparent? Able to withstand heat more readily and can now use tech 2 ammo.

We have invention that allows you to create tech 2 modules but how about being able to create your own modules using the same sort of interface that tech 2 invention uses? This sort of invention would not apply to tech 2 modules [plus they have already been altered] for they have their own benefits but would apply to various tech 1 modules from civilian to meta 4 with varying degrees of success on what you use.

A civilian module for example would have a poor chance of being altered say a 5% or maybe even as low as 1% chance of alteration while a meta 4 would be as high as 35 or 45 percent. Now you would have a certain number of attributes you can alter which may also depend on percentage success. So you may randomly be able to alter either 1-3 attributes. So you could use a meta 4 module and successfully be able to alter it but only be able to alter 1 attribute but if you get lucky with a civ afterburner for example you can alter 3. Now you can only alter attributes for far, so 1 less cpu or pg or 1-10% speed boost but iinstead of spreading around attribute points you can place them on one attribute so that 1% less cpu becomes 3% cpu. At the end of the process you can choose to name the item whatever you wish and it can only be sold via contracts.

So you have an n-type em hardner and you can now successfully alter it. Do you alter its duration by 3 points above the tech 2 em hardeners to 23. Do you incease its em resistance to 53 compared with the tech 2's 55% but with lower cpu needs. You have a civilian stasis webifier and because they are cheap you can try to alter hundred of them and increase their optimal range. Increase the capacitor reudction of a damage control I warfare link to 5%?

What items would be used for alteration. Well the civilian to meta 4 modules. Maybe datacores and radar site items. Salvage parts?
