Citadel launching question

I and a corp mate have been trying to place a Citadel all morning. We cannot get it to turn other than red to allow it to be placed. My alts and my corp mate are director or higher in corp and have anchoring 5. Any help that yall can provide would be greatly appreciated.

do the citadel have standing requirements like the old POS system?

Check the range from yourself (ship) and other obstacles in space, must be at least 1000km off from anything. When placing you can move the Citadel across the whole grid, just move it farther away. There is no standing requirement nor further skills required ... maybe there is a restriction within foreign sov space, but I'm not sure on that.

No but there are restrictions with what systems you can place them in. I assume you're not trying to anchor it in Jita or anywhere like that?

It seems to be a ccp troll. When you first try to deploy it - it seems centered around your ship and you cant anchor it. Of course there doesnt seem to be a message (or at least I dont remember any) that explains what the problem is.

It is the same with POS modules, your ship is always getting in the way. Although you can drag the citadel a long way from the ship, it is better to launch it fairly near where you want to anchor it. That way you can get a closer look at it as you rotate and align it.
