I cared enough to ask the Devs at the Citadel round table at Eve-Vegas and I don't think these lost functions of the POS force field had even crossed their minds -

Maybe if I had said "So when I get out of my Rorqual to hop into a scout ship the Citadel will protect me" instead of "Capital industrial" the assumption that I was talking about an Orca wouldn't have been made and maybe The rorqual would be an exception to docking along with the Orca & Cap transports
