Whats with high isk buy order contracts that you can't use? Is this some sort of game exploit?

The contract is there. your in system. in station with item and wtf?

What is it i'm missing.

Check minimum quantity.

Are you referring to contracts or buy orders.

It's possible to put up buy orders that will never be honoured by exploiting the broken way in which margin trading is implemented. Until CCP fixes margin trading to behave in a sane manner consider any bulk order where the min volume is the same as the order size as an attempt to artificially inflate the percieved value of something.

Are you talking about contract or buy order? Both are 2 different things.

This sounds like another margin trading scam, google it, it's been discussed to death.

And no I wasnt' scammed lol... I just happened to see a buy contract for something I had that was a few isk more than the others.

It was 1 item. And clearly the same item. But it wouldn't go through.

Check to see what the requirements to fill are.

There is a clever little scam which can get you if you do not pay attention.

Essentially it is like this

Player is buying or selling Item A
They are requiring X amount of isk Plus the same amount of Item A they are trying to buy/sell.

So say they are selling item A it will look like this

You are buying Item A

You will pay X Isk
You will pay Item A

And the way it is placed it is not easily discernible. I was almost caught on it once, fortunately I did not have the item in stock (a plex in this case) so I could not fulfill the order.

Easy way to see if it may be a scam. If it is an item that can be traded on the market, yet it is placed in a contract, it is more than likely a scam.

nah it was 1 item a few million isk more than the other buy contracts.... I'm thinking that by reading what a few others said in threads they made that it has something to do with speculation orders.
