If you have multiple citadels in wspace , and one gets destroyed, will your stuff get transferred to the other, or will still just drop?

But... individual pilots can transfer all their ships and all their modules/loot themselves. Having multiple citadels def makes it safer.

Imagine you have 7, and you just keep moving your **** around from 1 citadel to another. The evicting group would have to dedicate over a week to trying to get you out of that hole with 24 hour hole control... ******* miserable.

We are looking into a new hole (no pun intended) and this has come up as a viable defense. The current iteration of citadels are so weak vs sub-caps spamming the things seems to be the way to go. We were going to start with 4.

I am NOT crazy they made me take my medication this morning!

Sounds awesome, then they can pop 4 citadel's for the price of one invasion!

That's if the residents are dumb enough to make them have the same vulnerability timer.

You can set up multiple citadels but if your corp is only active during specific times or your part of a small corp it’s still going to be easy to evict you. Another larger corp just needs to set up their own citadel in your system. You are now forced to fight on their terms and during the time period they are most active. If you are unsuccessfully in destroying their citadel during that first 15 minute window you have essential lost your hole. You will likely have less than 24 hours to prepare, organize and stage a defense. Once the larger corp has their own citadel set up all they have to do is run your sites and gank your ships, you will leave soon enough.

The only way to increase your wormhole defense is by increasing your numbers and player activity.

This of it this way: It's exactly the same as a POS except you can now VERY easily log off all your loot and trash everything else so that attackers get nothing.

Look, i get it, shooting citadels is so hot right now but it will stop once people get over the newness factor.

Your right, its the same as a POS but it's bit easier for a larger corp to set up a base in your hole. If they set up a POS in your system you can attempt to attack it when they're not active. If it's a citadel you are force to fight on their terms. But honestly who cares.

The point is don't invest in a lot of citadels in an effort to increase your ability to defend your hole. Regardless if you have 2 or 10 citadels its going to be just as easy for a larger corp to camp your hole and force you out if they want. If anything multiple citadels will just make you a more attractive target.

Anything above 2 seems pointless to me unless you have large numbers. As two will ensure you can keep your assets safe for about a week. Any corp that is capable of camping your hole past a week is going to be able to evict you if they want.

Above advice is terrible, the more time you have the more time you get to fight back, get help etc. Nobody wants to siege for longer than they need to.

If having an extra astrahus buys you 4 days more time and you have 10 of them it's a very unattractive hole to siege.

There are diminishing returns once your assets are save for a week. You vulnerability timers are per week. So regardless if you have 2 citadels or 1000 citadels a larger corp can evict you in a week. An additional citadel does not mean you have an extra 4 days of safety as you imply.

2 (3 if you want to be really safe) gives you a week of safety. This is enough to deter most corps. If it doesn't deter your attacker then that corp has the resources and ability to control your hole and camp you for a week. During that week they will have the opportunity to destroy all your citadels. If you can't defend your first citadel you’re likely not going to be able to defend your 1000th either.

If you have larger numbers then multiple citadels start to make more sense. If you set multiple citadels to have their timers during the same time period, you force your attacker to split their forces and attack you on multiple fronts where you have the advantage of a citadel.

Don't want to turn this thread into a crazy debate though. Those are my thoughts you’re free to have your own.
