On Screen Objectives Tracker

This would be a nice addition. I know some people will think that this is dumbing down the game, why have it when there is a perfectly good journal? Right? Well, I think it would be much cleaner and smoother to have a objective tracker on the screen in the top right somewhere, telling you what current objectives are outstanding and if they have been completed or not.

It would just make things easier. And Unless I have missed something MAJOR, Eve doesnt have one yet.

Why can't you just leave the window up and pin it? It's really not something that's needed at all. This isn't WoW, you don't have 10 different quests that you're trying to take care of at once, there's only one mission at a time.

Its called polish. And for the love of pete, the GUI for eve online needs some of that. Its not changed drastically in 8 years since the game was released.

Adding MORE things to an already overcrowded UI is not polish.

Its not a fundamentally broken idea, but I don't need MORE stuff in my interface, thanks.

Streamline the current UI, THEN add more stuff to it.

Ehm… what objectives (in particular, what multiple objectives) do you feel the need to keep track of? What?

Nothing in this game is so complex as to require that kind of tracking, and the journal already largely provides the information needed.

Sure, I'm all up for improving the current mission system (almost tempted to call it questing).
However, it's different than your usual quest tracker, as there are often only one or two objectives.

A better display of what's going on would be great, how many times have you killed all the rats and warped off, forgetting on the civilians, or on a structure you should've destroyed? A flashing journal isn't enough.

I think at least an onscreen "mission completed, return to agent" indicator would be good.

I'd like to share a small and useful bit of information with you.

It so happens to be that if you open your Journal when you are on a mission, it resets the blinky/lit status. Once you complete all objectives, the journal tab in your main hud goes blinky and you know you are done.

An on Screen 'Mission Completed' is most certainly needed and would add a good bit of depth. All of you posting saying we alraedy have it are just unwilling to allow any change to your beloved game. Its not just your game, there are others that play it and this would go a long way to making the experience less painfull.

When Steve Jobs was making the first iPod, he would reject a model if it took more than so many clicks to do something and reject it if it could be done in a single click. Adding a mission objectives or a Mission Complete to the GUI would make Eve a far more slick and smooth experience.

Open Journal, double click active mission to bring up mission briefing window.... minimize window. When mission is complete the windows maximizes.

This not enough?

No, its not frankly. I would rather have a nice, simple widget on my UI that tells me when my mission objectives are done.

Honestly. None of the missions I've seen so far are that complex that I had the need to keep track of the objectives. The only instances where I tried to complete the mission prematurely were when I didn't read the mission objectives completely beforehand. But that was just my fault.

Really. Is "destroy everything red and a structure, bring back item" too complicated to keep in mind? I dearly hope not.

And yes, one can keep the agent conversation window open and minimized. It'll restore itself automatically once the objectives are completed.
