I thought it would be a good idea to continue posting here with my (rather bad) PVP exploits, you never know what you can learn from the responses. I’ve posted here before about the Bellicose and Thorax and now a Tormentor.

This particular fight is a bit of a non-event though but I would be interested in people’s opinion about the fit.

I had a video of this but screwed up and my Corps comms was audible so for op-sec reasons I didn’t use the video.

There was a WH entrance into FW space and so I took my little Tormentor out looking for a fight.

I saw an Atron at a novice plex and went for it, getting into the plex he was 30km off so 1 cycle of the MWD I was within range, scrammed him, webbed him, drones on him then lasers, he was dispatched without him even moving. His ship completely empty :(

Not a gf, it was a lousy fight, even a non fight, but technically another ship destroyed I suppose.

The Good:
I quickly determined the correct plex he was in.
I was decisive in my movements in terms of just going for it and not overthinking .

The Bad:
He was AFK
Ship was completely unfit:

dual rep without a cap booster won't give you much rep power 'cause you will be out of cap really fast and then you can't shoot, web, scram etc at all.

You will have same-ish HP/s as your fit but with better cap life, also scram range > scram cap use most of the time.

Hi Ashlar

Thanks for the fit suggestion, I'll alter mine . The previous non fit didn't really test the cap levels at all given the non-fight but what you say makes good sense. Thanks.

cap life 42 seconds without MWD, everything cold. 27 seconds with MWD and hot rep and guns... Now concider, that opponent has neut.

If your opponent has a neut and you let him get on top, holding a scram will be the least of your worries in a laser ship. I do have to ask, what neut pressure are you trying to endure at 7.5-8km (preferred range for your engagements on a SFBL torm)? Also frig fights last from 30-40 sec so cap over 1 min is good but not necessary imo.

Now if we are talking about FW environment only (what works in FW will get you blaped in other parts of space low or 0.0), scram range is more preferable over scram cap use too - reason is you need those 10 km when the kiter is entering your plex to get your first tackle or when you let fast dual prop ships sling in to you to make them use AB sooner. So yeap, scram range > over scram cap use most of the time. (exceptions when enduring scram is more preferable over other variants is when you are a secondary/tertiary tackle under neuts that need to hold scram before your dps get on grid or when you are in some sort of atocannon/vamp/asb cruiser fighting a curse ;P)

Beam torm is indeed a beast in FW environment tho.

This. Amar frigates can actually do very well have brawling ships close on them and picking them off at a distance before loading short range ammo.

I fit this, but I only get 26s cap so I have gone for the other suggested fit which is over 1m
