You already have a 'dislike' button in the fact that the post does not rise to your 'like' standard. Essentially, if you added one, you have 2 negative post options (Dislike and didn't like enough to hit the button) to 1 positive.

This is one of the dozen reasons why Reddit utterly fails as a reasonable posting mechanism.

Facebook is playing with this but it's already not working out well for them. Human nature is something you have to plan for.

So right now, it's pretty balanced, no like or like. "No Like" is your dislike or ambivalent button.

If you had a rating system, like 0,1 or 2 stars, then we could be accurately rated for the quality of our posts with the default being 1 star. This way it would be almost impossible to keep a 0 rating (horrible poster) and almost impossible to keep a '2' rating (perfect poster). However, as long as it stays 'like' and 'dislike' then it becomes a personal statement and not something that is beneficial to improving ourselves as human beings.
