Not vital at all in NPC null. 110% vital in sov null. You can't even dock in an outpost unless they let you and good luck finding an NPC station.

I know about not being able to dock in sov without getting permission, I mean like do you get a lot more money from seeding sov stations or is it not worth the hassle and restrictions over basing out of npc ones without belonging to an alliance? I used to seed Razor's npc station and got decent results but wondering if it's worth moving to sov stations over finding another nullsec one.

It is not not vital at all to join a nullsec alliance to do this. I would strongly advice against it because if you do you would end up like the rest of the people that reply to this thread. Nullsec alliances prohibit you undocking these days and you end up posting bitter replies on a forum like this.

There are a lot of skills that actually let you trade without the need to dock in a station. You can set up region wide buy and sell orders just floating in space with your interceptor if you train the right skills.

I can send you some examples of the skills i trained to achieve this.

Nah I've seeded stations and know how to do it, just curious what the profit looks like in sov stations compared to npc. I don't really care about undocking, I use a market alt with jump clones to go between stations because they're usually not in the same region, and for sure I'd never set up a region wide buy order, that'd be hell :/

Mostly just scoping out other pastures to see if they truly are greener

Hi, The profit depends on the item you trade in. If the time between selling and buying is shorter i dont mind my profit being thinner. Plexes sell pretty quickly most of the time so i keep app. 200M between my buy and sell orders.
I buy them at the moment for 825 and sell at 999.

Minerals usually take a bit more time so i spread the margin out more. As an example: i buy Tritanium at app. 2.80 and sell between 4.8 and 6 strongly depending on what the rest of the market does.

What i never do is setting up ridiculous orders. I never try to buy Tritanium for 0.01 ISK because noone will ever sell to me. The sellers need to get some value for money otherwise they will simply not sell.

All that time spent flying around and you still lose/dont know how to fly an Erebus.

But then tolling around in an Erebus is quite a bit different than those intys isnt it???
