My standings aren't top, but for starters you will want to consider the station from where you will trade, then grind missions for that corporation, then do the COSMOS mission arcs for that faction.
Google the COSMOS guides.

Ok, so here is a quick and dirty guide for Caldari standings, with a side order of Amarr standings.

1. Train the skills Social and Connections. Ideally to 5.

2. Do the Amarr and Ammatar datacenter agents as far as you can, see here: https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Data_Centers. These involve exchanging tags that you can buy from the market. Feel free to skip any that you feel are too expensive.

3. Join Amarr FW. Do FW missions. Get promotions and the associated faction standing increases. Once you have got the highest promotion, cash in your LP and leave Amarr FW. See here: http://www.factionwarfare.com/faction-warfare-guide-missions/

4. Go back and do any Amarr and Ammatar datacenter agents that you didn't do the first time round.

5. Do the Caldari datacenter agents.

6. Join Caldari FW. Do FW missions. Get promotions and the associated faction standing increases. Once you have got the highest promotion, cash in your LP and leave Caldari FW.

7. Go to the Caldari COSMOS constellation and cherry pick missions that increase your standings and give good rewards. Pay particular attention to the Michi and Akemon missions as these give implants worth around 1B each. See here: http://www.scribd.com/doc/16401872/Cosmos-Missions-101

8. Profit!

You can share the FW rewards (that make up the bulk of this method) with anyone else in the same FW faction. So feel free to fleet your alts and fix all their standings at the same time, or pay someone else to grind it for you. The standings sharing is buggy and sometimes promotions will not trigger when they should, you can correct this by capturing a FW PLEX in person (with the alt whose standings are bugged).

Remember that raising your standings this high to Caldari/Amarr will drop your standings to Minmatar/Gallente to the point where the NPC Navy will attack you in their space.

Sorry, some bright spark decided to take EVElopedia down. This link should do: http://www.eveinfo.net/complexes/ind~1483.htm

They are now going for 1.7B and 1.3B respectively.

There used to be - may still be - corps you could pay to grind them out for you; you fleeted with them and they were adept at doing it quickly. Worth a look?

Is there a way to pay your standings up with Isk somehow?

If you pay another player to do this for you.

It has been a long time (~3 years) since I've been active in this field, so I have no idea who is still performing this service.

Please note that the method I posted is not some massive ordeal like grinding the standings through hi-sec missions. You should be looking to complete the process in a few days (two weekends is what I used to aim for). It's not something you should be afraid to just do yourself.

If you want 10.00 faction standing you will eventually have to do missions though. Courier ones are your friend.
